Re: No VR improvements for v5?

Are you being deliberately obtuse? I'd be grateful if someone from LM could comment as to why this obviously essential functionality is not provided in VR, and if there are any plans to provide it. Anyone who has ever flown an aircraft will know that the use of checklists is an integral and essentia...

Re: No VR improvements for v5?

Any aircraft. Are you familiar with DCS? They have a kneeboard implementation. It's basic and could do with improvement - but it does the job. There is a default kneeboard popup in P3D, but it's not available in VR. There should be the ability to have a kneeboard you can bring up in VR that you can ...

Re: No VR improvements for v5?

Sorry, but I'm bumping this up to have a whinge. Anyone who has ever flown an aircraft will know that the use of checklists is an integral and essential part of the activity. How on earth can you possibly justify not having the ability to display checklists in VR? It is, in my view, inexplicable and...

Re: No VR improvements for v5?

Your argument is valid and well made. However (and fwiw*), I will now not be buying into v5. LM did make VR a selling point for v4. "extreme" development effort? Arguable? Besides, with P3D they're most of the way there already. Other products have managed to include the functionality I mention from...

Re: No VR improvements for v5?

Thanks. Sadly, I'm not optimistic. The v.4.x implementation still leaves a lot to be desired, and look at how long it took to get there . The VR implementation requires, at the very least: a functional kneeboard implementation. the ability to manipulate cockpit items (with the mouse) without having ...

No VR improvements for v5?

Very disappointing if so.

Re: VR Feature Requests

Two features requested for VR: 1) A feature that is the opposite of the Gaze Selection. The cursor would be controlled only by the mouse and would not be affected by head movement. In a complex cockpit with a lot of switches/controls, it is hard to hold my head steady enough to select controls reli...

Re: p3d v4.4 FPS

JorgenSA The frame rate in movie theatres is 24 FPS, on TV in the so-called PAL system it is 25 FPS, and in the NTSC system it is 30 FPS. The frame-rate chasers that want more than 30 FPS are deluding themselves, apply a frame rate limiter and go for a smooth experience - which is what it is all ab...

Re: VR zoom in 4.4, HMD recalibrate origin.

Behaviour is the same (or very similar) with the stock Blackhawk (Battlehawk) panels. If I resize the PFD, close the panel and reopen it, it goes back to its original size / ar.

Re: VR zoom in 4.4, HMD recalibrate origin.

I've just tried placing the panel, then saving the scenario. When I load the scenario up again, the panel appears (I think) twice as wide as it is tall, so it does not save as required. Since I've wandered off from the original post, just a reminder that this is all in VR. This is what appears in th...

Re: VR zoom in 4.4, HMD recalibrate origin.

If you move and size at runtime with keyboard and mouse, and save a scenario, the changes should save into the scenario. You could then peek into the scenario xml for the values and edit the panel config. Are they not saving and loading? Is the issue specific that set of aircraft panels, or is it h...

Re: VR zoom in 4.4, HMD recalibrate origin.

"As for the re-calibrate issue"
Please ignore this. I think it was just me getting confused, and it's working as expected. Sorry.

Re: VR zoom in 4.4, HMD recalibrate origin.

I continue to try and get a better experience with the Majestic Q400 in P3D(4.4). I am now trying to change the placement of some panels in VR. However the 3dp_size = 1,1 doesn't seem to work as expected. I would suppose that the parameters would be X,Y (but this is not specified in the Learning Cen...

Re: VR zoom in 4.4, HMD recalibrate origin.

Many thanks for replying (and on a Saturday! - please go and enjoy your weekend, and leave this for next week). "Do you have zoom enabled in the vr settings?" Whoops sorry - yes that was it. I did a complete wipe and reinstallation and had completely forgotten that this setting even existed. In my d...

VR zoom in 4.4, HMD recalibrate origin.

The ability to zoom in and out in VR appears to have stopped working for me. Has something changed? Has something also been changed with centre view in VR? It only seems to recalibrate in (head) yaw. If for some reason I lose pitch, it won't recentre in pitch? Sorry if it's me doing something wrong.
