Re: [P3Dv4.5HF2] DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG

I had these errors a long time ago with a computer overheating. due to the housings dust filters that were clogged by dust. Removing the dust from the filters made the cooling work again and the videocard did no longer overheat.

Re: Future of P3D

Let's see that much-rumored MSFS in real life before we start speculating.

Absolutely agree on that.

Re: OKBK Scenery by Armi Project

NTDLL.DLL CTD can be anything. As I have seen, the scenery is for FSX. That should run in P3D4. Check if you have very old .bgl files (before 2006) and if something is named AES... Also Simobjects could be a problem, if this scenery has such. If you own that scenery, try to install with the installe...

Re: European alps?

Hi Here's a free source for sat-scenery. https://italyphotoreal.weebly.com/download.html Its almost all of Europe despite the name. First you have to download the grid for europe and then select the used sceneries. It's a lot of space for hole europe. I only used a few areas in combination with a sc...

Re: AI Traffic

Hi All I suddenly find that no matter if I move the traffic slider to 100% there is no traffic at Airports?
Usually, such a sudden loss of AI traffic is caused by installation of a FS9 traffic scenery file. Check your latest addons. It can also be an airport you installed containing some traffic.

Re: I7 8700 vs I7 9700K upgrade question/preformance

It's been a while now... I installed the I7 9700K. Works like a charm! I can really notice a preformance increase! More FPS (+25%) and less stutters! The powersupply is holding well. I did some measurements, since i'm an electrical engineer. The power consumption stays well below 500 watts. So that...

Re: All exterior Aircraft and cockpit too dark to see

I recently discovered there's a great potential in setting the monitor to a better mode making dark cockpits much better readable. Check the different modes of your monitor, like Game, Video, etc.
When I'm home I can have a look again, what my settings are now. I use a Samsung C27F390.

Re: Realistic expectations on FPS on high end rig

I have a similar mobo (ASUS Z390F Gaming) that recently got a very stable bios update (1302). This has a one click oc mode for 5 GHz. Before I could not overclock, had crashes all the times. No everything is fine and rock-stable. Check if you can update the BIOS of your Gigabyte too. Dan P.S. I also...

Re: Aircraft sink in ground after update to HF2

Could be, that some altitude files are missing. When you updated P3D4, did you delete the P3D4 folder or some subfolders? Some altitude files are still stored in Prepar3d\Scenery\world\scenery. In general, these should not be changed if you update. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not affect altit...

Re: Instaling Updates

The instructions are very clear. One has to uninstall before installing new versions, either complete or component updates. The reason they made it possible to update Client only is so one doesn't have to reinstall addons. If you install new Client or Content you shouldn't have to reinstall addons....

Re: Double Shadows

Did you install some kind of enhancement, GSX.ini or dynamic lighting? Another idea is, that there maybe two PHNL on your system.
First thing I'd do is uninstalling and reinstalling this scenery. It's done very quickly and may solve the problem very easy.

New BIOS 1302 for ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING

Hi Just came across this yesterday. ASUS published Version 1302 on 2019/09/20 for the Z390F Gaming board. They just commented "Improve system stability" for this update. At least from version number going up from 1105 it seems to be a big change. Looking at the BIOS at first, i discovered a new entr...

Re: PBR and floating objects

I have seen this at Flytampas KLAS. Starting the sim at Nellis, part of the city is floating in the air. If I start the sim at KLAS, everything is fine. I also tried reducing the eye candies and it helped partially, means about 80% of the floaters were at the ground again. Have you asked FlyTampa i...
