Re: Realistic expectations on FPS on high end rig

Jorgen said exactly what I was thinking when I read your post. Frame rate only has meaning when it's too low. On the other hand, the higher the frame rate the less time available to render each frame. This is not a shooter game, which only has to render one stage or setting at a time whereas in flig...

Re: GRAPHICS CARD FOR P3D4

At the top of this page on the menu bar that has Prepar3D, Store, Learn, etc., click on Prepar3D and select system requirements, or go to this link: http://www.prepar3d.com/system-requirements/

The card will support P3D but note that is only exceeds the minimum requirements, not the recommended.

Re: problem with zoom

I am using the -/= keys for Zoom . what should my settings be, and where is there and documentation on this. I am a FSX/P3D user forever and never had this show up before>???? A normal zoom for exterior view with no distortion would be 1.0. The default cockpit view in P3D is 0.3 for some obscure re...

Re: Sun above the horizon and stars still visible!

Ray this is not as unreal as you think. An aircraft at flight levels, or even at VFR heights, is going to see the sun long before the terrain below does. There is also a twilight period at sun rise/set where some of the sun light and some starts coexist; however, by the time you can see the entire s...

Re: Instaling Updates

The instructions are very clear. One has to uninstall before installing new versions, either complete or component updates. The reason they made it possible to update Client only is so one doesn't have to reinstall addons. If you install new Client or Content you shouldn't have to reinstall addons. ...

Re: [P3D 4.5 HF1] Sim reduces the LOD radius by one notch, forcing a reload while flying the PMDG748.

Every P3D exit is seen as a CTD by windows when I load a PMDG plane. Do you use GSX? If so, that is probably the reason P3D crashes with the kernelbase .dll error. It's a known error with GSX and Win 7, but (as far as I know) the developer has decided to not look into it, as Win 7 will soon be depr...

Re: Screen distortion issues

Please don't double post the same issue.

Your zoom level of 0.30, which is a default Cockpit zoom, will distort the perspective exactly as you post in second picture. The default zoom level can be changed in the fxml files appropriate for your scenario.

Re: problem with zoom

What zoom levels? When zoom out (zoom < 1) you should get a wide angle or even in extreme fish eye perspective.

Re: P3pdv3 Error run out of memory.

Are you reporting this? If so, what are the specifics? What is the system description? What are you loading?

Maximum reported memory use by P3D users that I've seen run about 8-12 GB RAM and up to 10 GB VRAM or more is possible with high resolution settings and high density scenery addons.

Re: Resolution Set Up

The resolution is not the issue, it simply doesn't matter for the most part. However, your aspect ratio is going to be a problem. As you stretch the frame that is rendered specifically for 16:9 to 32:9 your squares become rectangles and circles become ovals unless your display compensates by blowing...

Re: System32 in addons list

One of your addons might be causing this. This certainly doesn't happen on my system with 120+ addons. Maybe someones dll module?

Re: Failed to update client to 4.5

Interesting. The minimum system requirements for P3Dv4 includes a minimum of 15GB space on system drive, or a total of 40 GB, and this seems to apply also to individual component installers. Makes sense when one thinks about it. Perhaps running the Windows Disk Cleanup on your c: drive will help. Hi...

Re: Shader folder absent

Are we supposed to guess what you think is the 'expected place?' Also, the shaders folder contains only .cso files so I'm unsure why you mention .fxml or .wx files... or maybe that's a clue as to where you are looking. If the shaders folder is missing, no problem it will be rebuilt next time P3D sta...

Re: [P3D 4.5 HF1] Sim reduces the LOD radius by one notch, forcing a reload while flying the PMDG748.

The kernelbase errors can be linked to a video driver corruption. Use DDU with Windows in safe mode to remove all remnants of driver files, old and new. See: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic ... 5&t=126058

Then install latest NVidia drivers. Hope this helps.
