Re: P3D v4.5-Hot Fix is cold for me.

One more thing - for some reason, when I installed the hotfix yesterday, the UIHardwareAcceleration=True line wasn't added to Prepared.cfg. Today it was. I have no idea why. Wondering if that might have made the difference, rather than the tress issue. Honestly don't know.

Re: P3D v4.5-Hot Fix is cold for me.

OK, now I'm good - managed to get the hotfix running perfectly.  The issue - at least, I think this was the issue - was a scenery.cfg conflct.  I found and removed a stray entry for Turbulent's Terraflora tree set, which I thought I'd uninstalled, but apparently there were traces left behind.  I'm g...

Re: P3D v4.5-Hot Fix is cold for me.

The 4.5 hotfix is giving me the same problems I had with the original 4.5 - stutters, along with frame rates cycling from 30, the limit in Vsync, down to 15 and back again once a second, especially at or near Orbx airports. There's also a new wrinkle - I get a CTD when I try to adjust autogen settin...

Re: Frame issues in Prepar3D v4.5

ORBX does seem to be an aggravating issue in my case. Today, for reasons other than 4.5 testing, I swapped out an ORBX Global freeware airport, and substituted a user-created work-in-progress version. Performance improved notably, to the point where I was able to move my vegetation slider back to "v...

Re: Frame issues in Prepar3D v4.5

I lock FPS at 20. Per Rob's post, with that setting and those additional restrictions, you're probably fine in 4.5. At a 30 fps lock, I'm just hitting limits, but 20 sound like enough overhead. Enjoy it! I'll stand by for a fix. Different styles and preferences - nothing wrong with that at all.

Re: Frame issues in Prepar3D v4.5

EDIT: for those (like myself) who lock to 30Hz Vsync (and don't max all graphics settings) then you might not notice any issue I do both of those things but I'm still seeing degraded performance - both fluctuations (rapid cycling from 30 to 15 to 30 fps) and the sim struggling to deliver 30 fps in ...

Re: Frame issues in Prepar3D v4.5

Have not tried the default load without Track IR. I’ll test that next chance I get - either in a few hours or sometime tomorrow.

So far, reducing autogen is the only thing that’s had a noticeable impact on performance - that’s in the default scenario as well as the real-world use case.

Re: Frame issues in Prepar3D v4.5

My initial load is the default flight with the F-22. That's with default fair weather and no Active Sky. Track IR in use. I've also tested a more demanding (and idiosyncratic) real-world scenario, using the A2A T-6 at KGAI, with Active Sky and Ultimate Traffic Live. Track IR in use. No other add-ons...

Re: Frame issues in Prepar3D v4.5

You can add me to the list of people experiencing performance issues with 4.5. Did a full uninstall and reinstall yesterday. With frames set to unlimited, monitor refresh at 30 Hz and Vsync set to adaptive in the NVidia control panel, frames set to unlimited in sim, I'm seeing frames on initial scen...

I'm sure it's a big improvement but for the moment - 'til FSUIPC is compatible and on the chance that LM can give us a patch that works with 2.2.10438.0 - I've decided not to upgrade and stick with 2.2 instead. Even if 2.3 performs better, 2.2 isn't broken, so for the moment, I'm not going to fix it...

At least one user is reporting on Avsim that the patch worked over 2.2.10438, in spite of the installer not reporting "completed."<br /> <br /> Very strange business.<br /> <br /> Am tempted to try the patch and see what happens, though "see what happens" is a little out of my comfort zone when it c...

According to posts on Avsim (not confirmed by me), the patch won't work with 2.2.10438, which is 2.2 plus the hotfix. If this is true I have to say it's puzzling - you'd think the patch would work with LM's latest build and not demand an earlier one. Am hoping others can shed more light, or that a r...

Well, for whatever reasons, this is giving me a distinct increase in smoothness at comparable settings. Not quite apples-to-apples - I'll need to try heavier weather - but I'm optimistic. Still getting best results with middle-of-the-road autogen sliders and conservative shadows (VC only), and had t...

Sounds extremely promising and I'm looking forward to trying these settings. One question - is 337.88 a requirement? I'm currently on 337.50 and haven't yet upgraded - but would if that was the price of entry. Would be interested to hear if the settings work with any of the earlier drivers. Thanks i...
