P3Dv5.3 + Intel 12900K ?
I have installed P3Dv5.3 on a brand new PC but it seems that P3D doesn't like the new processor generation. I get way too many stutters (every 5-6 seconds) with default flight. No add-ons installed so far. Is there already any experience with P3D/12900K? Hardware: i9-12900K (12 Cores, 16+8 Threads, ...

Re: Please correct errors or click cancel
I've seen this error for the first time today. I'm having it with P3Dv5.1HF1 and ActiveSky P3D (latest beta). I did some flights before today where it did not happen. So, what's the best way to avoid this?

Vehicle Traffic Speed
IMO, the speed of vehicles on roads and highways is much too high. I remember that it was possible to reduce those speeds in FSX and I've read that it should be possible in P3Dv5 too. Are there any guides or is it known which files (xml ?) have to be changed?

For me, it seems to work nearly perfectly. Did you clear your Shader Cache. I've not yet seen those shine-through-objects as they were present in my former install.

Re: 5.1 CTD when changing time
It seems that it is more related to ai traffic. If ai is disabled (0%) no CTD, if enabled CTD. CTD happens always after loading ai traffic which is the last process that happens after the time change. So at least this is a workaround, though, a bit cumbersome.

5.1 CTD when changing time
When I load a saved flight situation P3D runs well. But as soon as I apply a time/date change I get reproducible CTDs. Several add-ons are active, but I excluded the weather engine to be sure that it would not come from a sudden weather change.
Could you please investigate?

Re: Scenery visible through clouds
It is a P3D issue and has been discussed several times in this forum. It is less pronounced when not using EA and turning off the volumetric fog. I eagerly hope that we get rid of it with the next update.

Re: P3Dv5 HF2 Scenery Objects Impervious to EA Atmospheric Effects and Visibility
Disabling "Volumetric Fog" in P3Dv5HF2 seems to help. At least with Non-EA.

Re: P3Dv5 HF2 Scenery Objects Impervious to EA Atmospheric Effects and Visibility
If this is not caused by specific settings/hardware, I'm wondering how this could go through beta. I believe the issue is with NON PBR products, anything already converted to PBR will not present these problems. S. If this is true, we'll have a long time to wait until ORBX and others will update th...

Re: P3Dv5 HF2 Scenery Objects Impervious to EA Atmospheric Effects and Visibility
Having done a fresh install of HF2 today I noticed on my first test flights that some scenery objects (BGL not autogen) now appear impervious to the atmospheric effects. This is new with HF2. Is this as expected or is there something amiss with my installation? These shots were taken at noon at LSZ...

I have that issue too. It occurs sometimes during view panning and depends on the view angle. Its only in black&white colors.

Thanks for the fast reaction LM. I'm eagerly awaiting the hotfix and I instantly hope that it fixes all those CTDs which I experience in the ORBX PNW Seattle area.

Custom Weather - Wind Directions
As long as we don't have 3rd party add-ons for weather, it would be important to customize the weather by user input. Unfortunately, P3D weather options don't react (are laggy) on changing the wind direction.
Best,
Harry
