Re: I thought V5 was supposed to fix run in background error

If P3D disappears to the background on load without ever bringing up the scenario launch screen, it can indicate that a scenery or aircraft that uses the add-on.xml method has created invalid data - either in one of the two main add-on.cfg files, or it’s own add-on.xml file. It can be caused if the ...

Re: Add-on Development slow

I wouldn't get my hopes up. Whenever HF2 drops, developers of more complex addons such as PMDG, Milviz and FsLabs will have to test whatever they have in the pipeline and then fix whatever problems develop. I would count on weeks not days. I’d be willing to bet larger add-on developers like PMDG an...

P3DV5 HF1 repeatable crash on exit

I am running P3D5HF1 on Win 10 Pro version 1909. I have discovered a sequence of menu access steps that will cause the sim to silently crash on exit every time. The only way I see the crash is by watching the sim unload in Windows Process Explorer, and noting a momentary WER Fault just before Prepar...

Re: How to disable default KRAP airport in V5

Perhaps, but I would not have the issue with the payware airport had there not been issues with the default KRAP airport in P3D v4.5 and v5. I would have been satisfied with the default airport had it not had hazard towers sticking up all over the place where they shouldn't be. Regardless I was fin...

Re: Third Party Weather issues

Hello Vaughan FS Global Ultimate - Next Generation has been updated to a completely new version called "FS Global Ultimate - NG 2020". Not using Active Sky. Thanks Bill Gradwell Bill, I am using FSGRW 1.7 build 500. I did not know of the newer "FS Global Ultimate - NG 2020". I w...

Re: How to disable default KRAP airport in V5

What is interesting is the files APX20160.bgl, BRX20160.bgl, OBX20160.bgl are not disabled in V4.5 and the airport appears correctly yet in V5 without those three files being disabled there are multiple signs, etc on the airport. Do keep in mind though, that default APX files typically do not conta...

Re: P3DV5 Not stopping/phantom process

Thanks for the reply. I gave a try at Process explorer, and noticed the following: - When stopping Prepar3D V5, the P3D windows goes black, and the program disapear from the taskbar. The process goes from running state to suspended . - Event report show a Kernelbase.dll error at the time P3D stoppe...

Re: P3DV5 Not stopping/phantom process

For viewing running processes, may I suggest Microsoft’s Process Explorer, which is a free download. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer It does give a much better view of running processes than the default task manager, and you can kill any orphaned process easi...

They appeared after the spurious roadway coming off of the hotel east of the main terminal was fixed in HF1. send a screenshot with the coordinates, I will check this;) No coordinates are really needed. Re: LandClass/Vector Data

edit: IRL what are those poles at KDTW. FAA has them as a type of electrical tower, not a pole or a radio antennae. Most are either 'telephone/utility' poles. There are no poles, towers or structures of any kind at KDTW at the location shown. Pre-Covid, I flew out of DTW several times a year as a p...

Re: LandClass/Vector Data

Detroit KDTW: The 6-mile-long spurious elevated roadway that was attached to the hotel near the McNamara terminal was indeed fixed in HF1, but now there are a bunch of wooden telephone poles on the cargo ramp just west of runway 22L, and on the access taxiways and adjacent grass areas. https://i.ibb...

Re: Forum very slow and often inaccessible

I don’t think the issue (in general) has anything to do with individual’s own internet connectivity or the routing between their ISP and the LM forum. Several times I have gotten error messages from the forum itself specifically indicating that there are “too many users” connected. Even now, at the ...

Re: P3D menu items flickering

I have been seeing this since the RTM release, and it continues in HF1. It may well be related in some way to refresh rate. I have tried running my system with Vsync on, triple buffering on and frame rate locked at 30 using the settings within the sim, and with those settings off in P3D, but enabled...

Re: Hf1 - Still too many radio towers

This thread needs more pictures with the lat/lon so I can investigate. I want pictures of the lazer beams. I think i know what you are talking about. Sounds like a couple issues i'd like to narrow down. I made some changes to antennae placement but not all of it made it into the hotfix. There were ...
