Re: P3D stuck at splash screen after update to 4.3
Try this - I had the same problem and it was likely down to an incompatible addon. Open your documents folder \ Prepard 3D\ Make a backup of all add-on's inside. Remove all the Add-on's.XML files. Go to Local Disk (C:) ► ProgramData ► Lockheed Martin ► Prepar3D v4 Make a backup of exe.xml and dll.xm...

Re: Good add-on ATC to use until the bug is fixed?
I use VoxATC, not the cheapest, but I used it to virtually 100% replicate some of my VFR PPL flights. It is only as good as the data in sim though, so you need to do a little research. Don't expect any ATC addon to give you perfect ATC out of the box, they can't do it. I use fsAerodata to update my ...

Re: P3D4.1 CTD
Thankyou Elaine. I am not sure how, but the situation has (partially) resolved itself. After rebooting multiple times, I found that all addon aircraft seemed to load and work normally. However, the F22 default scenario still CTD. :S I am slowly now uninstalling and reinstalling all addons sequential...

P3D4.1 CTD
Initially this event happened on Jan 20th after my PC updated to Win10 build 1709. I am not certain this is the root cause but the proximity of the update to appearance of the problem is suspicious... On starting P3D with the Majestic Q400 in a saved state partway through a flight P3D loaded, the Q4...

Re: Maximum LOD in Prepar3d4 - for LM
I want those who are asking about it's value limits to explain what they think it affects. Ed, maybe if people were told by someone who actually knows what they're talking about, they could make an educated choice about whether to try to change a value or not? I don't honestly know myself, so pleas...

Re: P3Dv4 : photoscenery blurry in the distance
Confirmed here too... my example is ORBX Scotland when flying around Edinburgh city. They use photoreal for various parts including the large famous hill and it stays blurry until you're right on top of it and it's like this regardless of settings. I'm running a 3930K processor at 4.2ghz and a 1080...

Re: Merging of various Autogen definition files
Prepar3D cannot load or merge more than one autogen xml file. The add-on.xml can be used to define a location of an autogen xml file to be used by the system. This file will be used instead of the default AutogenDescriptions.xml without replacing it. Regards, Rob McCarthy Rob, I am a huge fan of LM...

Re: Surf effect difference in v3 and v4 - same file
NM, I've narrowed this down to an add-on effect. Default effects in default scenery work fine. My add-on scenery I'm seeing this with does not add the effect in question so I've tested with various add-ons activated to identify the offending package. It is another Earth Sims scenery - their 6.1 Scot...

Re: Surf effect difference in v3 and v4 - same file
Ive tried flipping the texture files fx_swoosh anf fx_swoosh2
Heres another video after that.
https://youtu.be/ufS-5NBDJms
You can clearly see that the surf texture effect is vertical out of the water instead of horizontal on top of it.

Surf effect difference in v3 and v4 - same file
See videos showing the same wave effect in both p3d3 and p3d4... v3 https://youtu.be/7-DYkYDNtFE v4 https://youtu.be/bYi_7z-7O1c Is anyone else see their surf effects vertical? You can see in the videos that in v3 its normal, just weird in v4... This is Earth Simulation Scilly Isles. The scenery con...

Re: Addon xml and World/Scenery
Don't know why it didn't work for me but I deleted shaders and restarted the sim and ta-da the elevation ALT file works fine. ES-Scilly Isles is now working fine apart from some weird effects. I need to go through and try and debug the contenterror.log reports on them now.. :)

Re: contenterror.log entries
Thanks Max
The textures are definitely in the referenced scenery folders. Fortunately I had a copy of the files in my v3 installation. I copied them over to a new folder and referenced that in the add-on.xml and they now work fine, so I'm guessing they got corrupted somehow?
Many thanks K

Re: Addon xml and World/Scenery
Well I have a scenery that needs an elevation file YCCT_ADEX_aero_ALT.BGL with this file in scenery\world\scenery the problem is solved. I tried now placing this file in the top priority, inside the scenery folder of the YCCT scenery, in layer 1 ,114...nothing. When I set Layer=114 it appeared in t...
