Developer tooling
Hi, SimDirector and the FX Tool are useful for object and effects placement and I appreciate them. However, most of what is needed for editing airport records (Facility records) assumes some use of GIS tools such as Global Mapper, QGIS, or ArcGIS. This is okay, but there are other tools (from previo...

Re: Five months since HF2. Will there be 5.4?
I'll keep supporting P3D as I am sure some developers will. However, the Salad Days are gone.

Re: Addons vs Default AFCAD Issue
There is a mismatch between excluding pre p3dv5 scenery objects with the p3dv5 sdk. The forum Jorgen points out will have a post (or several) on this issue.

Re: Five months since HF2. Will there be 5.4?
We'll get no information about any of the matters raised in this thread. One developer indicated last Fall (at one of the FlightSim conferences) that the franchise is likely to persist so long as customers for the intended market segment persists. Those that migrated from FSX for longevity are not l...

Re: Prepar3d V5 needs better scenery compatibility
Hey Jetpilot. Any P3Dv.4 and earlier exclude files will miss P3Dv5 objects as nearly all has been changed.
If it is a 3rd-party scenery, some of the files here may help: https://www.inibuilds.com/p3d-v5-scener ... lity-files

Please adopt a friendlier update approach
I think, given threats to market position, that something is overdue to improve the update proccess for Prepar3d. I realize that client, content, and scenery are divided, but it isn't clear to me which is doing what. For instance, "Effects" seem to be provided by the client whereas Autogen...

Re: [p3d v5.3] Sun reflections in waters shifted unnaturally to one side
When you have this issue and shifted sun and reflections, try to set EA off, reflection and sun is aligned again. And after set EA on again it`s aligned too... strange behavior. This works here too. On arrival from an EGLL - KPHL longhaul, both the sun and moon were off. Toggling EA on and off real...

Using the SDK to develop for platforms other than Prepar3d?
Do I understand the EULA for the SDK correctly? Does the definition of "Developer Software" in section 1, and its further clarification in section 3.1, mean that I can't use the SDK tools to develop software for X-Plane, Microsoft Flight Simulator, or AeroFly? I know license questions are ...

Beau,
Thank you for the documentation, would please also add this to the documentation that accompanies the SDK?

Re: KMCO not loading in P3Dv5.3
John was right in that it is the OBX26210.bgl file that is the culprit.

Re: KMCO not loading in P3Dv5.3
Had a look at the scenery files and the default object file OBX26210.bgl is about 10 times larger than the next largest scenery object file. This is the object file for KMCO and other airports in the Florida area. Also when I try to load an airport in ADE (Airport Design Editor) from the default AP...

Prepar3d 5.3 and APX26210.BGL
Hello LM developers, please have a look at this post as I believe there is an issue with version 5.3 and this BGL file that negatively affects the usability of the sim.

Re: KMCO not loading in P3Dv5.3
I think I have identified the problem. None of the airports in <P3DV5.3 install directory>\Scenery\0302\scenery\APX26210.BGL have any generic or custom/LibraryObject (GUID) 3D buildings at them. The default sceneries in this file include airports all along this northeast Florida coast up into southe...
