After doing some digging in settings Ive found that turning off auto exposure in HDR settings under lighting seems to create a hung error 99% of the time when launching p3d, after leaving the setting on I don't get the crash. I believe this needs to be looked into by LM

To clarify, the latest WHQL not the latest optional drivers. Ive had problems with some other programs with weird crashes and some visual bugs like textures being transparent and such. Also I've found that p3d to be more stable with the WHQL versions.

Yes, Ive tested both Nvidia and AMD the issue only appears on AMD.

Have you both asked the add-on aircraft developers about this issue? You both have AMD graphics cards, so it might be an AMD issue. Jorgen This is an AMD issue, i have both a NVIDIA and AMD card. I have the same problem with AMD, certain displays also have a white line with different colors specifically on the QW787 and pmdg 747. So I assume this is a problem with P3D not the aircraft.

Do the artifacts show up if enhanced atmospherics and/or volumetric clouds are disabled? Once EA is disabled, you could also try disabling HDR. During heavy lightning I get flashes like this that only lasts for a fraction of a second, note this only happens with 2d clouds EA can be on or off

Exact same issue here also on an AMD gpu (6900xt)

Seems like its not fixed by removing shaders its still happening even with a completely vanilla install however its much less frequent.

Im using a 6900xt and I have the same issue even in the default scenario.

Solved: Reshade was causing the issue

The P3D window goes black when trying to use the right click menu and only re-appears when left clicking.

Issue still the same in v5.2
