There is a good chance that your gfx card has an factory overclocking that is to high for a demanding app like P3D. If you can't (or won't) downclock it slightly you can try to alter the TDR setting of Windows. That's a really good point, haven´t thought about that yet...My GPU is slightly overcloc...
