Solved. EZDOK, which is not yet updated for V5, renames trackir manifest files so it does not recognise p3d starting. Change them back and it now works. If anyone else has the issue, in naturalpoint trackir5 program folder change simconnect.manifest1 to simconect.manifest simconnectsp2.manifest1 to ...

Thanks for replys I have installed SDK, run Trackir first, and both in admin. Still can not get it to work. I am guessing it is something to do with simconnect. I ran the installers for FSX-SP2-Xpack, then FSX-SP2 by duble clicking msi. Just briefly flashed, but not much else. Not sure how to confir...

[RESOLVED] P3DV5 and trackir
Hi Does trackir 5 function with P3Dv5? I can not get it to work. I have tried installing simconnect redist packages (FSX SP2-Xpack and FSX SP1) as suggested in a post about P3DV4. I am running both Trackir and P3D as adminitrator. It works fine with V4 and other games, so the hardware is all working.

There is indeed a maximum distance the camera can move away from the tower. Not sure what the figure is, but on large airports, you won't get near the runway threshold.
I use EZDOK3 so you can place world camera anywhere, and move it around much easier too.

Most of the froth and excitement for MSFS2020 seems to be about the 3d built environment and global sat images. Bing maps is not great. P3d should team up with Google. I know I would wait for a Google powered P3Dv5 before buying into MSFS2020. It will have to come via the microsoft store and account...

I do up the shadow map quality in cfg file. 4096 opaque and 2048 translucent. It gets nice shadows with not much performance impact. Perhaps the shadows on pbr ignore this setting in cfg?

It also happens if a texture map is attached. LM have some files to test. Perhaps it is just me.
The shadows do not AA when projected onto PBR surface it seems.

The ground above is just a plane with diffuse colour. No texture to rule that out (happens with textures added too). The only texture setting difference between the two is PBR False or True.
I'll set something up at a default airport and send by PM, so you can test it easily.

I increased the shadow map values in cfg. It seems to make little difference to jagged shadows on pbr ground.

Hi I have been adding PBR ground textures to a freeware scenery I develop. The general effect is more interesting than specular, but I find I must abandon it for now as the PBR seems to create very jagged shadow cast on it. AI aircraft for example, and the jagged nature makes for a flickering effect...

I found the HUD cut issue, or prop half cut was fixed. Try starting a flight in the aircraft with HUD on a grass runway, preferable with mountains to fill the HUD. Make sure you move forwards as that made the HUD disappear. If it's OK, then the HUD cut on landing will be a different issue to the Z o...
