Re: Upgrade Current PC Components or Start Again?
I have a mix of Add-ons (aircraft, scenery, avionics (like Garmin) for Xplane, P3D and FSX that are buggie/crashing with various problems that have not been updated / fixed for the past year. Expect these (payware) Addons to be functional in the MSFS 2020? I'd say likely no. It's an entirely new en...

Re: Upgrade Current PC Components or Start Again?
That's what I mean - tons of unconfirmed rumors, typical of Microsoft Vaporware. The bottom line is that we do not know anything, including if this product actually will materialize! Whatever the product may be, or how good it may be IF it materializes, streaming content/scenery and monthly fees is...

Re: Upgrade Current PC Components or Start Again?
Ones internet connection speed will play a big role. But based on what I've seen thus far most shouldn't have an issue.

Re: P3D v4 on a 4TB WD Black HDD?
Running the simulator on a HDD is not recommended, it will work but loading times will be extreme and performance during a session will suffer under certain conditions. Aside form increased load times in sim performance differs little between the 2 types of drives. Been there...done that. Ever seen...

Re: Upgrade Current PC Components or Start Again?
Personally... I'd shelve the full upgrade. Wait for MS Flight 2020 (close to release) At min upgrade the video card and max your RAM out. And be sure and install a 1TB SSD. I'm betting your current upgraded system will run the soon to release FS 2020 given it will be streaming a good portion of scen...

Re: SSD Comparison
You must first find out if you can even use a m2 SSD (compatibility).

This issue is resolved with the new F-4B version from SWS. It was an apparent known issue.

Re: Clone?
What if I clone the P3D drive (E:) onto a new faster drive?
All my add-ons are on the same drive as P3D as well. System specs is signature.

Re: Clone?
Update:
Clone process went great. Only 1 minor issue...UTL required a clean uninstall/reinstall. P3D at startup would give a no license for UTL window.

Just to add...
All my add-ons were not installed on the system drive. They are on the same drive as P3D install (E:) I also made a backup of all the P3D files using SIMconfigBackup

Clone?
My system is set up as....
C: Win 10 Pro
E: P3Dv3...DCS...P3D addons...
F: Steam Games
Each separate drive is 1TB in size. I have a Crucial 1TB SSD that I'd like to clone my (C:) onto. But I do not want/wish to reinstall P3Dv3 and it's add ons (too time consuming).
Anyone done this successfully?
