Re: P3D vs MS2020

I am still on P3D v3, so my comparison is not quite fair... but having jumped on board with the FS2020... Wow is the only word I can think of. FS2020, in my opinion (And in relation to p3D v3, which, as said, is not a really fair comparison), blows P3D right out of the virtual sky. FS2020 is so amaz...

Re: VR (HTC Vive, Virtual Reality)

xplane 11 with htc vive * works fine without flyinside and leap. I thought Xplane11 had no native support for VR? So Xplane11, straight out of the box, will work in VR with the Vive? Aftr having used Oculus Rift several times, I already long for a Bluetooth version of the hardware! The cables going...

Re: VR (HTC Vive, Virtual Reality)

Re. VR and Oculus without FlyInside I can sit in the cockpit and experience looking around. BUT: no hardware button works, no keypoard control, either. I have to switch views to my standard window (i. e. not the one showing two pictures) to have P3D react to my kb cmds. My VR view is an additional ...

Have you had progress? :)
I assume, since we haven't heard from you, that you have disappeared into the realms of the virtual-reality sphere ;)

Re: VR (HTC Vive, Virtual Reality)

Well, just what Jorge says really :) I use the Vive and P3D and nothing else (so I can't interact with cockpit other than through the HOTAS I use. Mouse is not available and keyboard is obviously not a realistic option since you can't see it) My method: -Start P3D -Switch to virtual cockpit VR-mode ...

Sharper weather transitions

The ability to start on the ground on a dark gloomy overcast day, and climb into the bright wonderland up top. Like this (not my video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvRfM_qN5EM Currently, even at full overcast settings, there's never really a sensation of being below a heavily overcast layer. An...

Re: P3D crash (using HTC Vive)

The crash report seems to suggest it is occurring in the Steam executable. Please continue to keep an eye out for reproduction steps. Prepar3D will likely close when the handle to Steam/Vive is dropped - when the Vive is enabled. Hi Adam, I will see what I find as time goes on. I have flown that ar...

P3D crash (using HTC Vive)

I just experienced the first crash of P3D in all the time I have used it (at least the first crash that I noticed as a crash) I was flying the Lockheed P38 (JFFSX_P38FPR_Lightning) from LAX to KEDW, using the preset weather RainyDay. I had gotten about halfway, was somewhere around 14,000' up, in th...

Re: no cockpit in oculus mode

thanks! now how do I recentre the view. cant seem to find an option in keys settings In your keys-setup, go to "views" section and look for something like "hmd recenter". The option is in there, but isn't mapped to any keys by default. Set up a key for it, or joystick, then clos...

Re: no cockpit in oculus mode

Can anyone tell me how to get the cockpit to display in oculus mode. All I'm getting is a full screen with no cockpit? Thanks Lee I'm using the HTC Vive, so this may not work for you if you're using Oculus: Select (in the view menu) VR with cockpit (the other VR mode is without cockpit) If the cock...

Re: Cockpit size in Virtual Reality (HTC Vive)

Thanks :) Perhaps at some point a type of VR scale-modifier can be incorporated in the flight-sim (for example, in the aircraft.cfg file) so aircraft can be calibrated for VR on a per-aircraft basis: [vr_tuning] model_scalar =1.00000 //scale perceived model-size, relative to virtual-reality view If ...

Cockpit size in Virtual Reality (HTC Vive)

"Cockpit size in Virtual Reality (HTC Vive)" When sitting in the virtual cockpit (using the HTC Vive), I have noticed differences in how big the cockpit 'feels' between various aircraft. Is this caused by the model file (the .mdl) or some setting the user can adjust somewhere? I tried 2 3r...
