I too am having this error. I have not been able to complete a single flight since P3d V5 release. I have all of the windows updates and driver updates. I'm having this issue with 5.1 as well. I still use P3d v4.5 because V5 is usable.

I’m definitely happy with P3D. This is a real sim with a focus on realism. MSFS looks cool, I own it also but I’m good with P3D and will continue to support. It hard’s to shake the game feel with MSFS. It feels too much like a game to me.

I figured out how to fix this. The issue is with windows. Check to see if you have the Windows 10 2004 update. This update addresses Vram DX12 issues. I installed this update and P3D V5 no longer crashes with that error.

I have the same problem whenever I use a complex addon such as PMDG or FSLabs.

I can confirm the same issue with all add on aircraft in V5. I too and thinking it’s driver issue. I have an Nvdia RTX2080 and shouldn’t be having this issue. V5 although it’s wonderful when I can use it, is not usable for me in it’s current state.

Of course they'd say that. They were invited to by Microsoft and who would openly be critical for such an experience. They may think it is fixed but it may not be because it is a random occurrence. This issued occured for me as soon as I installed 4.2. All I did was delete the default flight and created a new default flight using the F22. It worked but after a week or so, the issue came back. Its random

If I load up a scenerio with a different airplane, it comes back

I've done all of the recommended troubleshooting and it's still not working for me. Ever since 4.2 I've had the grayed out Atc. It worked for a few days and now its back and I cant fix it

I had this issue grayed out ATC window since updating to P3D 4.2 It went away temporarily when I deleted the default flight and re created it. Now it's back and I cant seem to resolve it

I replaced the original default flight with a new one using the F22. That originally worked but today the problem has come back and I cannot seem to resolved it
