Re: Forum colour

My guess is that they're just trying to pick up the colors used in the v5 logo and splash screen. That said, I did prefer the earlier colors for the forum.

[RESOLVED] Required Nvidia Modules?

I see on the v5 splash screen the logo for Nvidia Gameworks. Seeing the tie-in with Nvidia makes me curious about which driver modules are needed/helpful. Since I only do P3D and DCS plus a certain program in alpha testing, I've always chosen not to install all the other modules at video driver upda...

Re: Greyed Out Scenery Files

I see you asked about this in another section of the forum. Dan Downs’ reply is right on and expands a bit on what I wrote earlier.

Re: Greyed Out Scenery Files

The grayed out ones are from the .xml files in your My Documents\P3D folders. I forget which of the two folders it is since I’m not at my computer but it’s the one full of .xml files. They’ll always be on top, so no reason ever to move them.

Re: Prepar3d is limiting my CPU clock

Do a search for i5-8250U throttling and see what you find. There are several reports that indicate it's not just core temp that slows this CPU down. Depending on the laptop, it can even be an under capacity power supply.

3 not 4 Program Icons in Windows Control Panel

To update from P3Dv4.4 to v4.5, I faithfully followed the directions in Poppet's excellent tutorial. I elected to do a full R&R, and at the beginning of the process, I had four programs (sub-programs?) showing in the Control Panel/Programs and Features page; Prepar3D v4 Academic, Prepar3D v4 Academi...

Re: Scenery Library can't move entries

The ones with check boxes but which you can't move are put there by .xml files, which is actually LM's preferred method of notifying the sim of add-ons. There's no need to reorder them or move them around. If you need/want to deactivate them, just move them out of the Documents/P3D v4 Add-ons folder...

Re: Brakes still locked

Glad to see this is fixed, but Mike is absolutely correct. "Reversing"/swapping left for right would be done through an axis assignment, not checking/unchecking the Reverse box.

Re: Brakes still locked

I didn't see if you stated whether or not you have physical rudder pedals with associated toe brakes. If so, every one I've seen required the brake axis to be reversed. Otherwise, you think you have no brakes but they're in fact full on. Besides looking at the bindings in P3D/FSUIPC, you can easily ...
