As the title suggests, I'm looking to create a scenery object with a surface to land on. Let's say I wanted to make an aircraft carrier, or an airport. The documentation and the exporting tools lead me to believe I can use the AttachPoint tool to attach a "Platform" point to the surface(s) that the aircraft can land on.
However, when I do this the model no longer exports properly. XtoMDL fails to convert the exported .X file (though it still creates one).
I have tested the model's geometry and it loads in Prepar3d just fine as long as I do not use the AttachPoint tool. The mesh is very simple for now, just a large, long box.
I have tried using the AttachPoint tool on just the top of the mesh as well as trying to attach to the entire mesh, with the same results. I can provide the XtoMDL error log or screenshots of the geometry if needed.
If this is not the correct way to go about it, how would I go about accomplishing this task?
