Wembley Stadium - old version in v5. Why?

Post by Ray Proudfoot »

I flew north of Heathrow yesterday over Wembley Stadium. I was astonished to see it was the old “twin towers” version that was knocked down in 2000 with the new one opened in March 2007.

v5 was released in April 2020, 13 years later. Why wasn’t such an iconic stadium updated? What a disappointment.

I don’t have v6 but I imagine the new one with the arch now features. 17 years on.

I have UK2000's EGLL and London City installed. When I remember to do so, I will fly over and take a screenshot of that. I wonder who will be playing?

Thanks Jorgen. I also have UK2000 EGLL but the stadium is too far north to be included in that package. I’m guessing you have v5 and 6. It’s probably updated in 6 with the arch.

England v Germany I imagine 😉

It’s easily identifiable even from 1,000ft. Thanks!

Hello Ray;

I am using P3d v6.1 Patch3, with default scenery.
I can confirm that the Wembley Stadium model being displayed is the old 'twin towers' one.
...and not the more recent one with the 'arch'.

Cheers

Yep, towers are there in v. 5 and v. 6.

But I will say that correction of airports probably has a higher priority at L-M than stadiums...

Even worse: San Marino was beating England 7-0!

Your humour is excellent! I do remember San Marino going 1-0 up against England many years ago. England prevailed but conceding was embarrassing.

It would be nice to hear from LM as to why they don’t update scenery objects outside airports.
