Newest Nvidia driver 378.49 causes memory leak

Post by Bluefinn »

Just want to bring a little attention to this.

Several users have had a problem where the memory of their P3D v3.4 would just leak out and end in a OOM.
The nvidia driver which causes this is: 378.49.

I also have had this issue and I reverted back to 376.33 which is very stable and doesnt cause memory leaks.
I've experienced the memory leak on several routes (EFHK-EGLL 2x) (EFHK-EPWA 1x)

All is working fine now again.

Some proof that others have had this same issue: http://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.p ... mb-of-vas/

How bad was the memory leak on our EFHK-EGLL flight?

Did you OOM?

What do you think is causing the problem on your setup / add-ons?

Just as I said in the first post, it was the gpu driver. I dont have the problem with an older driver.

Have you contacted Nvidia?

I've been running these since release with no problems either. A very good driver all round for me in P3D and all my games, so maybe some other cause or combination for the OP.

I have the same issue as OP. 378.49 causes memory leak and any older driver fixes the issue for me.

Almost forgot, this memory leak with the nvidia driver 378.49 only happens to users of the 10 series nvidia gpus. Can OP confirm that he uses one of the new gpus? And others who do not suffer from the issue, which graphicscard are you using?
