Matt,

Thanks for the information.

I had not seen it listed in the features and enhancements list for P3D v2.3

Hi Vaughan,

I missed it the first time I read through it, too.

It's in the Update Notes under 'Lighting and Shadows', about halfway down:

Lighting and Shadows

[...]

Fixed an issue where lighting on 3rd party aircraft carriers would not display

Also, if anyone is using vLSO (or FSUIPC in general), you'll need a new FSUIPC dll that doesn't crash P3D, available on AVSIM.

* I got the fsuipc "f" update yesterday .. no problems seen with it so far.

Sorry about this 2nd post ...... I hit "save post" on accident two times thinking the first one did not save properly.

All - this appears to be fixed in v2.3. Hooray!!! Thanks to LM devs for listening and coding the fix.

Almost!! The FLOLS is is working well. Runway lights are aligned as well. Extremity, other lights as well as the wake float 50m above datum

Hi Vaughan,

That's actually not my post - I was just quoted. But you are correct in your observation. And alas, so is 'hcholle' - whatever LM did it seems to have fixed the meatball, but the flashing red bow lights and red lights on the island are now very mis-aligned. I'm afraid we'll have to just live with this. I did email Javier's last known address to see if he was going to update the carriers for P3D, but never heard back. I also haven't been able to find any recent posts from him on any forum, anywhere.

hcholle - I don't have the same flight deck lighting mis-alignment that you show in your picture - interesting. See below:

Almost; I would appear that the datum have been moved to get the FLOLS to work. This is the result:

Interesting I will try the images again

The Runway lights are aligned correctly. Its the extremity lights wake and catapult steam effects that appear to be about 50m too high

refer correct attached images below

is this a P3D or AI Carriers2 problem where lights and other vehicles are too high (above the deck)?

I suspect that in earlier version of P3D V2 the FLOLS light emetter was below the waterline. It was invisible. When the datum was moved to bring the light emitter in to alignment with the model the other effect moved out of position.

The floating vehicles was on the standard Microsoft carriers.

Today I did a night flyby CVN-69 (Eisenhower).

Deck not underwater.

Perimeter lights are elevated.

Another view of elevated lights :

Matt,

You mentioned "Also, if anyone is using vLSO"

I would like to try it.

I did a search but could not find a download for VLSO?

Edit: I found it this morning on a blog.

Hi Vaughan,

Glad you found vLSO, but in the most recent (beta) version 0.8.1.2, I believe the aircraft entries are missing in the .ini file. If you want to copy and paste my settings into the end of that file (vLSO.ini), here they are.
