Which sceneries will you need in advance
Hi,
I want to know which global sceneries you need. I got some advice but ...
After installing P3D:
Global mesh, http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_i ... ts_id=2648
I do not understand why?
Ftx global, http://fullterrain.com/product_ftxglobal.html
Is there no mesh inside the scenery? And may-be it could conflict withe the mesh above
Ftx vector, http://fullterrain.com/product_ftxgvector.html
Ftx Europe, http://fullterrain.com/product_ftxgopenlcEU.html
I fly above Europe, so this one I need.
Please give me advice.

Layers in the simulator
Orbx staffer Rob Newman created a very easy to follow chart which explains how various “layers” work for FSX
(as well as Prepar3D):
go to orbx site https://www.fullterrain.com/product_ftxgopenlcEU.html
on the right is (click to download user guide PFD) download it GOTO page 15 to 16 that will give you info of what you are seeking

Impossible to answer without more information about the flying you are doing.
And why you are taking advice from anywhere other than here is a whole separate topic!
Case in point: You do not need FTX Europe. You have confused FTX Europe with their new European Landclass product. If you have FTX Global for textures, FTX Vector for vector graphics (coastlines, road and rail etc) and FTX Global Open LC Europe, the new offering, you are actually better off without it unless you do a a lot of flying in the UK or Southern Ireland.
FTX Global is a considerable advance on the ground texture and network, but it's pricey and should be used only if it brings more benefit than the equivalent sums being spent on your regular hubs. Conversely if you are a low, slow pilot looking at the ground constantly from only a few thousand feet, then these products re what you need - along with detailed mesh as an option if you fly in areas where the default can be considerably enhanced.
If you fly airliners at typical tubeliner heights then frankly, you could do worse than stick with the basic and concentrate only on regions and airports.
Please do try and be more specific with your questions.

Hi Loek,
Which sceneries do you need? = None nothing is Needed you can fly right now anywhere without installing additional sceneries.
Which Orbx sceneries are recommended for your viewing pleasure.. is more of what I guess you really meant.
1
FTX Global Base = Texture base replacement. (Can install alone)
2 Pilots FS Global Ultimate or FS Global 2010 mesh = Yes P3D has a mesh but it has much more detail and is needed to combine with Vector and OpenLCEU. (Can install alone)
3 FTX vector = corrects coastal lines, rivers, roads ect. (Vector needs Mesh to display correct rivers and roads)
4 FTX OpenLC EU = puts autogen in the correct places. (OpenLC needs Mesh + FTX Global base to display properly)
So I recommend you buy 1 to 4.
Regards,
Saul.

Hi to all,
First I know now the question belongs in the forum of Orbx. Never mind I did it here. let us try.
Where I'm flying? Mostley above Europe and with my Lancair Legacy or CRJ. What I want to see is the best scenery there is. Right placed objects, colors etc. Starting from a small airfield on the island of Texel with my Lecacy, then to Schiphol Eham, and a flight to Nice with the CRJ. Watching the Alps, Islands, Cannes and landing on the beauty of the Cote d'Azur. I want to recognize places.
I have read the ftx Global openlc User Guide. First what means "openlc"? And I found out, you need for best results the following layers.
1 Terrain Mesh: FS Global 2010 http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_i ... 6jiqsi6qp5
2 Landclas Data: ftx Global Openlc there is none?
3 Texture and Autogen: ftx Global Base http://fullterrain.com/product_ftxglobal.html
4 Vector Data: http://fullterrain.com/product_ftxgvector.html
5 Europe: FTX Global openLC (Europe) http://fullterrain.com/product_ftxgopenlcEU.html
They write in the beginning of the manual:
1 Texture and Autogen: ftx Global Base http://fullterrain.com/product_ftxglobal.html
2 Vector Data: http://fullterrain.com/product_ftxgvector.html
3 Europe: FTX Global openLC (Europe) http://fullterrain.com/product_ftxgopenlcEU.html
And after reading the end of the manual, about compatibility, may-be it would be better to start with the 3 sceneries above. Is that right?
Or what Saul says:

Whatever, the manual is a bit conf ...

Space is not a problem for most people unless you have no Hard drive space left. (it is possible to install the Mesh on a different drive to the main)
The Mesh makes a big difference in mountain regions bringing life to the ridges and peaks.
The mesh is really a necessary part of the FTX global suite of addons.
There are some videos on youtube from Orbx showing the difference each component makes.

Txt. I do understand. There are so many programs. UTX, REX etc. And I have now the opportunity to change it all. So the first step after bying my new computer and P3D, Saul, will be:
1 Terrain Mesh: FS Global 2010 http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_i ... 6jiqsi6qp5
2 Texture and Autogen: ftx Global Base http://fullterrain.com/product_ftxglobal.html
3 Vector Data: http://fullterrain.com/product_ftxgvector.html
4 Europe: FTX Global openLC (Europe) http://fullterrain.com/product_ftxgopenlcEU.html
