Did you previously report the problem ?

"unable to read the Pilot Records (or when the "Load" button started P3D directly)."
Does not sound like a Cannot Update to v6.1.11 problem?

Different from the Update failed.

Your problem was a problem after the Update was installed, correct?

OK I understand.
I want to say that this procedure can help in other situations, not especially for updating.

Yes, I have reported for the pilot records and the load button.

If I read your linked topic correctly:
First that was a problem with P3D5 (not P3D6).

Second, it was not a problem with Installing P3D.

It was problem with your setup found after installing P3D and running (testing) the P3D install.

You just had to fix a permissions problem not run the P3D installer / setup again.
Is that correct?

Yes, that is correct, but this solution also solve others issues than updating.

Are we having a bad day again today? One would argue your rant is irrelevant to the topic and far less helpful than mpnis contribution, which is pretty clear what the intention was for.

Not sure what your problem is...but I'm going to try this as for some reason P3Dv6 will not launch for me. Just sits at the logo screen eating 177 Mb of RAM and doesn't do anything.

P3Dv5.4 works without issue.
