Turboprop Torque

Post by WarpD »

Can anyone provide information regarding what impacts the turboprop engine's torque response to throttle changes? In other words, how quickly or slowly it responds and how to adjust that and avoid any overshoot.

Ok... I'll answer my own question:

Torque is directly tied to corrected N1 in the sim. So, the only way to control the torque behavior is to control the N1 behavior. Unfortunately, the sim does not allow for good control over the N1 behavior (PID type behaviors), so torque bounces around because N1 bounces around.

Is there anyone at L-M willing to discuss this situation?
