ground where should be water

Post by FCXEVV »

Hi guys,

In FSX there was a scenery problem where ground would be for example in rivers where there shouldn't be any, there was an updated scenery file to fix it.

I've seen in P3D that it has the same problem, for example fly around London UK Thames river area and you'll see ground textures in the river where there shouldn't be any.

Is there an updated scenery file for P3D as there was for FSX?

regards

From L-M you have what you see on the download page.

Otherwise I would encourage you to get UTX.

Hi,

Shouldn't need anything adding to P3D, it should simply be right from the start and not be supplied with crap scenery, I would have expected LM to have learnt from MS's mistakes.
In FSX it was a fix in the terrain.cfg

Where did the FSX "updated scenery file" for the London UK Thames river area come from?

Do you have a screenshot and location (Lat/Lon) of the problem ?

Hi Vaughan,

Follow the Thames westward from London city, an heli is useful for this.
I had typed out a thesis on this and caught a button key button and lost the lot so this is a much shortened version.

A bad example of scenery at LAT N51° 30.54 LON W0° 2.70 , be under 200ft heading 233°mag.
There are lots where ground or cliffs ar in the river.

The corrected file was from the MSDN flight sim developers pages.

P3Dv4.5 has ground instead of water around VHHH airport scenery. Any other found the solution?

Hi FCXEVV

I went to your location , "LAT N51° 30.54 LON W0° 2.70 , be under 200ft heading 233°mag", and I don't see anything like you describe in default P3D. Could you provide a screenshot from your sim at that location and we can better understand the problem you are seeing.

cordially,

Max
