Barebones opinions

Post by N697DT »

I have been looking at the following website for a new cpu/motherboard and I am wondering if anyone has experience or recommendations with this site: https://www.portatech.com/products/cate ... ml?id=1239. Ideally, I would like to be around $400 and was thinking about the Select Barebones / Custom PC w/ Intel Core i7 9700F (8 Core 8 Thread @ 4.7GHz - No Int. Video) $419.00. I already have an Nvidia GTX 1050Ti and a Samsung Evo 250 GB SSD in my current computer that I'm going to transplant to the new one. With this, do I need to get the Intel 4K GPU? Or is it only needed if I'm running a 4K monitor, which I'm not. I have ORBX, REX, AS, aircraft add-ons, etc. that I want to be able to run at a smooth rate, at least 30-35 fps at an add-on airport with weather. Any help is well appreciated.

With your GTX 1050Ti you most definitely do not need an on-board Intel GPU - or indeed any on-board GPU.

The Intel 4000 series gpu comes already built into the Core i7 Processor. So you really don't get a choice about buying it.

Whatever you do for Video, don't buy ANY video card product until at least mid-july because prices have been in a downward spiral and Nvidia is expected to announce 15% price cuts along with an updated product lineup soon.

Interesting. I have an i7-7700K, and no Intel graphics.

And a very interesting tip about nVidia graphics cards, much appreciated.
