Hi,

As mentioned in the title, I noticed in the upper-right corner since a few days (I don't know when it started) this watermark "Academic License".

It stays there all the time even when P3D is not running!

If running P3D in windowed mode it is just below the max-min-exit buttons and

if running in full screen mode it is on the same line as the max-min-exit buttons and

this is exactly the same possition as when P3D is not running.

The only thing what happened last week, after really enjoying P3D, was, that suddenly I had an activation error code # 5013, but I suppose this has nothing to do with it.

Meanwhile the activation error has been solved by license-support dept. but this "watermark-thing" is still there.

No big bussines but just ennoying and not correct.

Thanks for explaining me how this is possible.

What kind of monitor are you using? There is no way our software can render the water mark when it is not running, so the only possible explanation would be burn-in on your actual screen. Although screen savers are still used, most monitors these days do not have burn-in issues.

Thanks,

I use a

LG Electronics LG TV - 32 inches as pc-monitor 1360x768x32 Refresh Rate 60 Hz

(According to NVIDIA Control panel) HDCP-capable and

connected through HDMI-HDTV connector Graphic Card NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 (Subvendor MSI (1462) last update driver 301.42

OS Windows7-64 Ultimate

Oh boy.............You are mentioning screen savers!!! You know what ?

Two things: first I feel a bit embarrassed! and

secondly I'm using Flight pictures as screen background and changing the background picture.................watermark gone!

The only question left now is, will it burn in again in any other background picture and if so why?. Anyway if this occurs there is no real harm done so as far as I'm concerned; issue "solved"

Joop, the watermark is always visible when running a "Academic License" of P3D. It's within the specifications.

Yes Jan, I knew.

But in my case I could see it on my desktop when P3D WAS NOT RUNNING.

What I didn't realize was, that I was looking to a picture set as background!!! (when P3D was not running)

Just embarrassing!

I would just use the blue custom color as background to prevent any unannounced changes...
