I have 2 questions,

1) I'm designing an airport to be the most realistic possible. To achieve that, I'd like to change the boundary and the elevation (not flat) of this one. Is it gonna give trouble to PP3D to draw the runway? or is it gonna follow the terrain?? (indeed my real runway is not flat at all...)

2) if 1) don't give problem, I'm ceating myself the shapefile needed to change the boundary, but I see in the example from the SDK that I should find the PP3D Uuid of this airport (Am I right???). WHere can I find it?? Is there a list somewhere??

Thanks to illuminate me

Hi Skysoft,

There are some excellent tutorials, advice and articles on Airport design at FSDeveloper.com if you would like to check them out (but make sure you come back here!). I hope that at some stage we will get time to create more information on our forum and tutorials area as we continue to build content.

Airports in FSX and thus P3D are essentially flat. Therefore runways need to be flat also. There is a way to create sloped runways. As John mentions there is indeed reference to one of these at www.fsdeveloper.com

There is a way to create terrain following Sloping Runways. “Design Tutorial For Sloping Runway Scenery” (building_sloping_runways_w-b.zip) is available for download over at AvSim, FlightSim and SOH. It covers one method of creation. I do not see any reason that scenery created with this method would not work in P3D. I’m sure the author would be curious to know the result.

Hopefully the jumping thru hoops creation method of Sloping Runways for FSX will be overcome with future versions of P3D.
