[RESOLVED] Low FPS in Prepar3d v4

Post by Urmel81 »

Hello,
I have low FPS in Prepar3d v4 comapred to v3.

I made a complete new Windows 10 installation on separate SSD for v4 before I started.
C: Windows 10 (complete new)
D: Addons (no Addon installed at the moment)
E: Prepar3d v4 (default) - no addons

3 Monitors at 2x GTX 1080 (played with SLI to test Performance Improvements - no help)
Prepar3d on LG UltraWide View (2560x1080) (v3+v4 the same Monitor)
I7 4770 K at 4.3 GHz (v3 + v4 the same)

In Berlin EDDT: with default Aircraft (like F22 or Bonanza A36) around 22FPS (Settings complete down: around 50 FPS).
No AI-Traffic, no Ships, no Road Traffic, Fair Weather,
Normally: over 100 -150 FPS

Tried Affinity Mask - nothing helps.

Any Idea?

Thanks

Adjust your antialiasing setting. Your 2K monitor should work with 4xMSAA. No need for the higher stuff that really kills frame rates.

What graphics settings are you using? Can you share screenshots of your settings pages?

I tested different settings, all nearly the same. 1024-4096, 0AF - 16 AF, ....
Can somebody test in Berlin EDDT the FPS?
I have:
High scenery settings: 20 - 22 FPS
Low scenery settings: 50 FPS

I made a test in Vancouver (now with FSDreamTeam CYVR installed together with FS Global Mesh):
around 45 FPS (with full - 100% Custom AI) and the same High settings

The test in Berlin: NO ADDONS, EVERYTHING DEFAULT

You didn't answer the question yet. What are your display settings on the P3Dv4 Display options screen? If your setting for AA is SSAA then that could be your problem. Try one of the MSAA settings, the 4xMSAA should be all you need for a 2K monitor.

Hello,

Bro, thank you sooo much for this, I had my AA as 8xSSAA and my FPS was hella low, so because of you, I changed it to 8xMSAA, and that finally fixed my FPS!

Thank You,
