Cessna Academic version to use with Professional license

I have only had Prepar3D Professional now on V3.4 and only flown jets but I have now decided to restart my flying lessons and I wish to purchase the Cessna 172 trainer but this comes in Academic and Professional. Given I have correctly been using the Professional version from the outset and I am now restarting my flying lessons, can I properly buy and install the Cessna Academic version to use with my Professional license ?
