Hi
On a previous project we used fsx and ran into issue of horizontal tearing while using an ATI based video card. There didn't appear to be any way to force vertical sync on in fsx so we ended up having to swap the ATI card for an nVidia card since it's driver offered a force vertical sync on option.
We're now looking at possibly using Prepar3D and were wondering if there is a vertical sync option in Prepar3D that we can use if need be independently of the make of video card or whether we would need to use nVidia cards and it's driver option to force vsync on if we need to.
Regards
ATI cards - horizontal tearing - vertical sync
I have found that Nvidea graphics cards work far better than ATI graphic cards in FSX/P3D. The Nvidea drivers seem to be far more FSX/P3D "friendly", although recent ATI Cards and their Drivers do seem to be getting significantly better.
But why not just stick with Nvidea ? -- "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Some of the shader modifications coming in v1.1 should help the older ATI cards out, especially when using rain/snow. The ATI cards really don't like mixing Shader Model 1.0/2.0 with 3.0 so we've updated most of the shaders to 3.0. We also fixed some of the issues we previously had rendering legacy FS9 content by updating the fallback shaders and properly hooking them into the IR sensor.
