So Rob,
On a scale from one to ten, with ten being the worse, what was the pucker factor using the SVS on that foul weather approach? How about if it was a real life situation? Regardless, I enjoyed the flight. Thanks for the demo. SVS could be a nice FS addition.

Well I used race Lotus cars so it takes a lot to pucker me up ... I'd say around a 7. :)
I would only attempt to land a KBID in that kinda weather if it was a serious emergency (like fuel leak, very sick passenger, etc. etc.)
SVS will be free for the 1st year, but for $35 for aircraft with SVS, I'd call that a bargain! Hope we see more SVS in the G1000 and that nice weather radar works with both default weather and AS4 weather. But it's a nice bit-o-kit, real world aircraft with G1000 systems (with SVS) like this are definitely on the more expensive side for a 172SP - $300,000 ish used ... but when/if I get into the aircraft market, I would certainly want a G1000 based aircraft.
I'd really like to buy a TBM 850 with the G1000, but those are outside my budget at around $2.2M used.
Cheers, Rob.

Have you thought about getting the wife a second job?

Wife getting a second job or maybe it will take three because a brand spanking new TBM 850 with the G1000 is awesome in all ways compared to a used one...that way you know what shes been through and all :)
As for you Rob maybe, you can cut back to half time because I for one would love to see more of these great videos.

"new TBM 850" not in the cards ... "used TBM 850" will take some creative investments with some amazing returns :)
But here is something more likely and a great video in case anyone is serious about purchases, maintenance, and long term costs:
