[RESOLVED] 0x80070003- the system cannot find the path specified

I recently had to replace my motherboard. I didn't re-install windows. I just reactivated it as is required when major hardware is replaced. I also reinstalled chipset drivers from the DVD that came with the board before updating to the latest version. This was all accompanied by a major cleanup of my system removing many old programs and files and registry cleaning. I got this error when installing Prepar3d V4.1 using Setup_Prepar3D.exe :

0x80070003- the system cannot find the path specified.

accompanied by the log at the log file at the end of this post.

In the mean time I found that I had no problem installing V4.1 by the three .msi files in the order client, content and then scenery. This went perfectly and as far as I can see Prepar3D is working correctly.

My question is is this a valid way to install Prepar3D or am I missing something by not using Setup_Prepar3D.exe to install?

The recommended way to Install Prepar3D is by running the Setup_Prepar3D.exe, But yes you can also Install Prepar3D by running the 3 component Installers Individually, Client, Content and Scenery.

If you are Installing Prepar3D this way Insure you have updated your Windows Operating system with all the Important updates available to you.

Also, If this is a new Install of Prepar3D you will need Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.2 and at least Microsoft Visuals 2015.
