V5 - crashing.

Postby carlbfinch » Tue Jun 23, 2020 7:04 am

Hi,
Very new to simming here. Done it many years ago and getting back into it.

Purchased V5 yesterday and immediately ran into issues.
Without touching any settings or addons I loaded a flight and then it crashes. Did a bit of reading and it seems that happens to a lot of people.

Updated graphics driver and to windows 2004 and then eventually managed to get airborne.
Then I tried setting up my cockpit and add new views and then it starts crashing again.

I have a 65’ front screen and 2 32’ for windows. Then 2 22’ which I run airmanager.

System is as follows
Windows 10
Ryzen 9 3900X
AMD 5700 XT
16GB 3000MHZ RAM

Are there any error messages when the crash happens, and what is the "Failing module" in Windows Event Viewer?

@ carlbfinch

"I have a 65’ front screen and 2 32’ for windows. Then 2 22’"
Does that mean 5 monitors total in your setup?

"I run airmanager."
What is that?

Note:
Do not look for "Failing module" in Windows Event Viewer, it is not there.

You want to look for the :
Faulting Module Name
in Windows Event Viewer.

Please install P3D V5 HF2 which was just released today. It address several CTD issues and might just resolve your problem.

5 screen yes but only for inputs. The 2 x 22 are linked so that they show the same.

Air Manager is a programme from sim Innovations. It does all the panel stuff for me.

Brilliant! Working now and not crashing.
The only thing now is I open my 2nd undocked window and that is black.
The main screen and first undocked window view works as it should, just when I open the 2nd which would be my right window.

@ carlbfinch,

For a new topic (problem) it is best to start a new topic in the main forum.

Glad to hear your V5 crashing problem is resolved.
