Flight Controls (Stick and Rudder) not reactive

Postby braudoux » Tue Oct 29, 2019 5:34 pm

Good evening,

I get a problem with my controls... the stick and the rudder pedal do not react correctly anymore... they are very smooth, even if the stick is full left (or right), the bank is very smooth and limited...

I checked the calibration through Windows/Devices and there is no issue with calibration tool, all reactions are fast, reactive and correct...
I also tried to calibrate and assign the devices through FSUIPC paid version and SpadNext. But the same result...

I have deleted the Standard.xml and it was rebuilt by P3D. I have recalibrated again and removed any dead zone, augmented the sensibility to max............ but still the same: Full aileron left, maximum bank 30 degrees and the turn is impossible... Also on the ground, it is a disaster as I cannot steer the aircraft along taxiways...

This happens with whatever aircraft I fly, native or add-on. Until last month, it was working fine...

This behavior went after I upgraded to Version 4.5 and EZDOK v3 update... Not sure if it is related, but just in case.

It is the first time that I am so much in trouble... Cannot fly

How should I proceed to resolve it ?
I thank everyone in advance to comes with a solution...
Bruno

I have a similar problem. One of my aircraft, the Manfred Jahn C117 V3 does not recognize my Saitek Yoke, though it does recognize the quadrant. I have things set through FSUIPC registered version. I do not have this issue with any other aircraft, afaik, though I have not tested it will all those I have installed. This is a very odd situation...I hope whatever solution is found for you, will work for me, too...

Hi Sherm,
Despite all my investigations, I did not find any solution. So I am reinstalling P3d from scratch. I did a quick test flight today and all is OK.
Cheers

Hi Bardoux

Further checking and the yoke is not recognized by any of the aircraft in my hanger. I know the yoke is properly installed because it shows up in W10 Device Manager as well as in Devices and Printers...where calibration shows it to be perfect. It is also recognized by P3D itself. I have the yoke set via P3D (not FSUIPC) for control functions such as ailerons, flaps, landing gear, trim, etc. But, I do need some functions to be controlled through the yoke, which does not want to cooperate except for the above functions.

btw, in FSUPC.ini, both throttle quadrant and rudder pedals are recognized. There is no listing for the yoke.

I am hoping not to do a complete reinstall...Perhaps Client...but, so far, I am still exploring. If I learn of anything else, I will post here.

Hi,

Are choosing aircraft specific profile each time you setup your controls?
If you forget, then on any setting you do, it wouldn't be included in the specific profile for the aircraft you want to use, also unless you manually edit the fsuipc.ini file you must make sure that you have your controls plugged into the same usb socket each time you want to use them, you can allocate letters to each device in case you do move them around your sockets.

Make sure if your using fsuipc for setting up your controls that within p3d itself, 'use joystick' controllers in unticked.

I have noticed myself that the aileron control is different in the latest v4.5 to what it was previously.

Sherm, a quick question: are you absolutely sure that this aircraft is v. 4.5 compatible?

Yes Jorgen, it is compatible...meantime, I have checked other aircraft, and it is a similar situation. There is no recognition by FSPIUC of the yoke. This is how the setup looks in the fsuipc.ini.

[JoyNames]
AutoAssignLetters=No
0=CH PRO PEDALS USB
0.GUID={7CF75A60-FA4A-11E9-8004-444553540000}
1=Saitek Pro Flight Throttle Quadrant (USB)
1.GUID={7CF621E0-FA4A-11E9-8002-444553540000}

As you can see, the yoke is missing. So this is the case for all aircraft. Since posting yesterday, I reinstalled the P3D Client and will be booting the sim shortly to see if there is any difference. Thanks to all for your interest. I will report back as things develop.

Hi all,

I am happy to report that things are back to normal and the yoke is recognized...
[JoyNames]
AutoAssignLetters=No
0=Saitek Pro Flight Throttle Quadrant (USB)
0.GUID={7CF621E0-FA4A-11E9-8002-444553540000}
1=Saitek Pro Flight Yoke (USB)
1.GUID={7CF585A0-FA4A-11E9-8001-444553540000}
2=CH PRO PEDALS USB
2.GUID={7CF75A60-FA4A-11E9-8004-444553540000}

All along, it was being recognized within W10, but not in P3D. I wish I could outline the steps I took to get it right. I did disable controls in P3D temporarily, and that got things working. Frankly, I have known all along that access through P3D and FSUIPC simultaneously is discouraged. But, I have used that setup in the past. I like my quadrant sticks controlled by the sim, especially with the Manfred Jahn DC3. FSUIPC has always given me trouble with the mixture setting. Anyway, back to flying as usual, at least until the next crisis.

Hi Sherm,

Good news then but I would manually allocate letters to the various devices to future proof your settings in the fsuipc.ini, also easier to find entries in large files simply by search for Y= for finding your yoke for example.

Have you done your compound programming yet? Good fun to be had :(

Hi Steve,

your suggestions are way above my pay grade....:-) How do I allocate letters and where in the ini file.

Compound programming???

Hi Sherm,

In your example above copied below:
[JoyNames]
AutoAssignLetters=No
0=Saitek Pro Flight Throttle Quadrant (USB)
0.GUID={7CF621E0-FA4A-11E9-8002-444553540000}
1=Saitek Pro Flight Yoke (USB)
1.GUID={7CF585A0-FA4A-11E9-8001-444553540000}
2=CH PRO PEDALS USB
2.GUID={7CF75A60-FA4A-11E9-8004-444553540000}

You could change to:

[JoyNames]
AutoAssignLetters=No
Q=Saitek Pro Flight Throttle Quadrant (USB)
Q.GUID={7CF621E0-FA4A-11E9-8002-444553540000}
Y=Saitek Pro Flight Yoke (USB)
Y.GUID={7CF585A0-FA4A-11E9-8001-444553540000}
R=CH PRO PEDALS USB
R.GUID={7CF75A60-FA4A-11E9-8004-444553540000}

You can use any letter you want as long as you use the same letter on both lines relating to the same device.
But! please make a copy of the file before you edit it and at least one flight sim website I'm on constantly suggests delete the fsuipc.ini for a lot of problems, please never do this without having made a copy first, if you get into the compound programming you will have no doubt spent many hours editing the .ini file only to loose all the settings you have done.

Compound programming: you will need to read the FSUIPC manuals, can't really guide you here - I use a Saitek Cessna Yoke, it has a 3 position switch, what this means is that for every switch on my yoke & my throttle quadrants, I can have 3 different commands depending on the position of the 3 position slider switch.
Basically the action of a switch depends on the state of another, beware that a switch maybe marked as switch 1 but fsuipc may read it as switch 0.

Thanks, Steve...

very odd, this morning when I started P3D, I lost the yoke button function again....I am going to try your configuration and hope it restores things permanently....
