P3D 4.5 hotfix 2 problem ( Answer from P3D team would be more the welcome )

Postby ryanair007 » Fri Oct 04, 2019 8:43 pm

My simple questions is why can you not limit your fps in p3d and have a smooth flight like in version 4.4 .P3D is only smooth with fps unlimited . Looks like the fps limiter is linked with something else in the sim that makes everything stutter . so the only was to make the sim smooth is

1 . unlimited fsp with v-sync
2. 30 htz screen res ( smooth sim but all the rest is laggy ) specially with you use high refresh screen like mine 165 htz.

Did not have this problem with 4.4 .Fps limiter that was working great . Since 4.5 the internal fps limiter create bad stutters and this is not only me having this problem .

Tried the sim on 3 different machines with high end hardware.

So Lm with hotfix 2 still did not solve the problem and have to use the 30 htz trick WHY........

Why is it not possible to use a 144 htz screen with a nice and reactive screen and lock fsp to 34 fps like befour ????

Since this problem apparently only happens with your particular hardware setup, I don't think you're going to hear anything from L-M (and I stated this in a different thread already).

P3D is perfectly smooth on my system with the frame limiter in Prepar3d.cfg, and, due to the lack of problems reported, I would assume on a lot of other systems also.

So if it's only me why does alot of people use there screen at 30 htz and FPS unlimited with vsync on ?? The obvious answers is that if you use the FPS limiter . You set your screen refresh rate at 60 70 80 or 144htz you have stutters. So if you have a very smooth flight and no stutters you can be very happy and lucky but clearly you are a minority that every thing is ok. Could it be something else windows update . What version of Windows and Nvidia driver are you using please. ?

Latest Windows update (installed this week) and latest nVidia driver, installed through nVidia Experience.

And if I am in the minority, why hasn't someone else from the majority posted anything? Because I'm not in the minority.

You need to make your hardware settings fit with the software, and for that go here: https://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv4/prepar3d ... ation.html

The other way is not going to happen.
