SSD Hard Disk

Post by titolopez »

Hi, there.

My P3D v4.5 has been running smoothly, but had to buy a new Hard Disk because I was running out of space.

Then I cloned the old Hard Disk to the new one, which is a 2 TB SSD Seagate hard Disk.

Since then, P3D crashes mid-flight.

Thanks in advance for any help...

What are the crash reports pointing to as the faulting module and the exception code?

Good place to start in solving a problem is to first define it. Crashing mid session tells us nothing.

Thanks for your kind response.

There's no message. It just crashes to desktop.

Press the windows start button and type REPORTS and select View All Problem Reports. Look for the Prepar3D reports and start there.

Just guessing, because terrain.dll errors are uncommon, that maybe your clone operation failed for some reason. Perhaps now there are conflicts between generated files and installed-then-cloned scenery? Just a guess.

I googled terrain.dll crash p3d and found plenty of avenues for investigation. I cannot guess what you have for addon scenery but I'd start by removing addon scenery until problem is solved. I am aware that your crashes are happening during a session, you can always start by using the half then half technique...where you turn off half your scenery, if it still happens then turn off the other half and narrow it down.
