Hello I'm building a new budget PC hoping it will at least run P3D v2 moderately with room for upgrades to eventually run it very well. Does anyone know if the following configuration will work? Any criticism of the selected parts? This will be my first PC build. Thanks guys.

GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor

G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory

WD BLACK SERIES WD1003FZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner

Thermaltake Water 3.0 Performer (CLW0222) Water/Liquid CPU Cooler 120MM

Rosewill R5 Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Case

I already have a thermaltake 850W Power supply, and will be using a GeForce GTX650 1GB Graphics card (for now) I feel will be a limiting factor for performance, but an easy upgrade in the future.

Any input is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Zach

Best to have a more powerful Video Card. For sure 1gb Vram isnt near optimal, best have at least 2gb. Consider a 770 or higher.

Thanks, but won't it at least provide decent performance?

Not it IMO. I'm using a 780 4gb and times I wish I had a Titan.

Hi Zach,

It will run P3Dv2 I'm sure but perhaps with low settings. A lot of people struggling with 1GB graphics cards.

Saul.

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to just hold off for a while. New egg wont issue me a credit line for whatever reason (I have a good credit score, they're saying my info isn't correct) so just going to save and wait til sometime next year to build a new PC. I'll just have to watch P3D videos until then. I really appreciate the input
