P3Dv5 HF2 crash after catapulting

Post by mpni »

Hi
If the detection of crashed is activaded, P3Dv5 crash the aircraft at the end of the deck after catapulting.
If the detection of crashed is not activated, the aircraft take quickly speed (about 260kt) at the end of the catapult, as a collision with the ground.
So, catapulting is not fully available.
Regards
Michel

That is with all aircrafts and all carriers, on P3Dv5 HF2.

Michel,

Are you launching from the P3D default carrier with the default F35C?

Hi Martyson
When the detection is activated, I confirm the crash on the four catapults on the default carrier with the default F35C.
This is the same with all aircrafts and all carriers.
When the detection is not activated, speed make important acceleration as whe can see during a ground or obstacle collision.

Michel ,

Do you have a couple screenshots showing MFP / HUD speed near end of CAT and just after clearing the CAT?

What is the F35C gross weight at CAT launch?

My test launch:

F35C has a hight speed.
This test in the video is with and Etendard by RFN on the Charles de Gaulle by RFN
The speed of the Etendard is below the speed of the F35C.
So we can see the acceleration.
This test is with crash detection unselected.
If you can't read mkv, please say me what you need.

Edit 1 : on P3Dv4.5HF2, all is correct.

Edit 2 : same test with the Etendend on a default P3Dv5HF2 carrier with catapulting using Shift + Space bar :

Edit 3 :
Another test using F35C at 41000 pounds. We can see the speed passing 219kt to 253 kt

When the "detect crashes and damage" is selected, all catapulting make a crash when the aircraft lives the deck.
This seems to be the reason why the speed increases rapidly.
