Invisible land

Post by wparry »

So I took off from a valley in Oregon, went to land in a different valley by 5J2 and I crashed into nothing on decent.

Is there a fix for this yet?

I could be searching wrong, but I could only find things about the sim crashing, this didn't crash the sim. Just the plane.

I still do not understand what happened on your flight.

What does just crashed the plane mean?
crashed into nothing on decent?
Invisible land?

Did you have a crash message?
Did you have crash detect on or off?
Did the sim restart?

Do a search on your topic: Invisible

Exactly that, I flew for about 30 minutes no problem, about halfway to the ground on my decent I crashed into an invisible something at about 1500ft. same crash message that you get when you hit another aircraft or slam the ground too hard.

Crash detection is on, but it happened with it off as well.

Sim just put me back on the ground cold and dark where I started. I switched crash detection off and same result on the 2nd go.

oh yep, sorry I guess some more info would be helpful wouldn't it.

P3dv5
Orbx global base, north american lc, PNW, trees, buildings.
I was tracking the flight with the FSE client but I don't think it could cause that.

I searched Invisible, this is the closest thing to what I experienced. Looks like he's still waiting for a solution too.

have found a few issues so far:

1. Missing ILS's FALE 06/24
2. Collision with invisible ground on short final at FALE 06 (Visual approach)
3. Collision with invisible ground on FACT 19 (ILS approach)

The collisions with invisible ground usually occur on short final at a height of 5-600'

Thanks, Chris

Some people have reported that turning off Turbulence effects in the options has alleviated this.

I will have to give that shot. Not being able to fly even default planes around while running into this issue is getting annoying. Ill try it tonight and report back here.

Running TruSky seems to cause this issue as well I should mention.

I don't think its true sky. Ive run into the issue with/without it and actually had it happen more often with True Sky off.
