[RESOLVED] W10 Defender - High CPU usage with P3d

Post by aceridgey »

Hi all,

There is a windows 10 windows defender process that takes up a lot of CPU when P3d is running, For me i have the exceptions for the p3d drive but I cannot work out why it is so high.

At the moment, it runs approximately 35% of my CPU when p3d is running .

The process is called 'Antimalware Service Executable'.

Any ideas?

I exclude the entire P3D folder from Windows Defender scans.

I thought that would fix it too, but ALAS, no cigar.

FYI, I've just checked my system and with an add on B737NG aircraft loaded in P3Dv4.2, "Antimalware Service Executable" shows a stable 0% CPU utilization.

Have you done anything to achieve this?

Only thing I've done is exclude the entire P3D folder from Windows 10 Defender scans.

Don't know if it helps, but you can also exclude processes from W10 Defender.

Hello

Unfortunetely not my friend.

Only fix is to temporarily disable windows defender real time protection whilst flying.. Or get a third party AV
