Hello Fliers. I have P3D up and running and in the process of setting everything up. I need some help on a couple of things that I could not find in the Learning Center.
1. I have three controls hooked up 3 different usb ports. They are all ch products. Yoke, Peddles and throttle quadrant. All latest drivers. With FSX when ever I connected a control it automatic picked it up in the controls listed box, however, with P3D it does not. In P3D I clicked on the import tab and could not find my controls? I'm sure there is something I'm missing.
2. Where do you go in the settings to have your aircraft, once selected, to start cold dark with no engine(s) running?
Best Regards

Importing Controls Into P3D?
Hi Lamar,
The Learning Centre should be located in your start menu Lockheed Martin Folder.
Search the forum for CH yokes and I'm sure there are previous examples of how people got these working.
One Possible way is to use FSUIPC to catch your controllers and link them into P3D.
There is no place to select cold and dark from the main menu's.
Some Aircraft do support full start up procedures but others don't.
If you plan to buy addon aircraft and want those that support full start up procedures you need to research them carefully.
Regards,
Saul.

Hi Lamar,
The easiest way is (while on ground ;) )to switch off your plane avionics to cold and dark state. Save your flight and select it as "default flight ".
The advanced way is:...
...to edit your default flight file.
Note that for "flight files" p3d2 new file format is in xml format and have an extension .fxml. The legacy format was an ini file with extension of .flt. They are same in data structure. Either way open your default flight file with text editor like notepad. Edit the following lines as your desire. Save the file and you are good to go. If you don't know which file is your default flight you can look to prepar3d.cfg (located in %appdata%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d v2\prepar3d.cfg)for the "SITUATION=FLIGHTS\OTHER\PREPAR3D.fxml" parameter.
"\FLIGHTS\OTHER\PREPAR3D.fxml" is the factory default flight located under p3d2 root. Alternatively you can change or edit this file or you change the file path for "SITUATION="
p3d2 can run legacy ".flt" files due to backward compatibility so if you have a previous cold and dark situation you can directly use it. Copy it from fsx or p3d 1.4 etc. Look to avsim for readymade cold and dark files.
