Difference between SDK and Developer Licence

Postby tspj20 » Fri Apr 13, 2018 10:20 am

Hello,

I would like to interface an external GPS receiver to Prepar3D and run flight scenarios which uses the GPS receiver data and the plane's INS data (simulated by Prepare3D) in flight positioning.

I was advised in a previous thread that I can interface the GPS receiver with Prepar3D by creating some software in SimConnect (SDK).

For this purpose, do I need to get a developer's licence as well, or is the SDK sufficient?

In general, what is the difference between the two software development options?

Thank you.

Kind regards,
Talini

Hi Talini,

The SDK contains the APIs and interfaces required to interact with Prepar3D. It does not contain the Prepar3D executable which must be purchased separately. Please refer to our License Options page here for more information on acceptable uses of each Prepar3D license option: https://prepar3d.com/product-overview/p ... omparison/
