[RESOLVED] Strange Textures

Hallo,

I am getting very strange textures in P3D Academic. Please see the attached image.

I would be obliged for any help in solving this issue.

I am using a PC with Windows 8,Processor i7-3770 3.4GHz, NVidia GTX660.

Can I ask if you've altered your terrain.cfg? or do you have any addons installed?

I have not altered my terrain.cfg

I have airport addons mainly from UK2000 and FSDT.

These all work correctly. However, when I leave the area of the above airports

i.e. into P3D scenery, I get the strange textures.

I will attempt to replace the P3D scenery files.

check if you have alternative ground class textures in the add-ons or textures with the same name as the ground class.

delete the shader cache folder

AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D\Shaders\

create a backup 1st of everything inside that folder.

then delete all the content, restart Prepar3d and it will rebuild everything again. sometimes this can fix the graphics rendering, also fix stutters and some antialiasing problems too.

sorry it didnt help...

what addons (Scenery) do you have installed?

I think Kamikaze was asking because maybe theres a backup of the ground class, so you can replace with the original ones.

change to another season and check and then go back again.

I'm afraid this did not help either.

I think I may have to re-install, which I don't want to do because the P3D downloaded files are

also pretty dodgy, in that they invariably produce the 2350.FDI Server Error.

bummer, last shot...

create a copy of your cfg

Try to remove your preapr3d.cfg file, and let p3d rebuild a new one default graphic settings..

if that doesnt work replace the new one with the one you backed up (no harm done).

other thing is to repair p3d, to fix that problem..

This didn't work either.

As for repairing, it is also not working because of the same 2350.FDI Server Error (i.e. Data1.cab is corrupt).

I'm now going to download all the files again. As usual a matter of a few hours, and even then you cannot be

sure that they will work.

This problem has now been solved by repairing the P3D installation.
