Graphic Driver 465.89

Post by clive6354 »

Although the driver version, 465.89 has not been updated on the Nvidea site as yet does anyone have any reports on progress regarding resolving the issues with this driver when used with V5.1?

BUMP as the recommended driver for systems from Nvid is not useable with P3D. This issue obviously will only grow with time.

Hello

As Lockheed Martin made representation to Nvidia regarding the reported problems with driver 465.89 when used with P3D v5.1 or is there a possibility that the problem is with V5.1 and not Nvidea?

Read the other threads on this topic.

The problem is with the nVidia driver. Roll back one version and you are OK.

I also had to back date to previous Nvidea driver as P3D v5.1 started C.T.D. on start up
It will be interesting to know Nidea's comments on this .

Suggest they are too busy with perfecting drivers to satisfy MSFS2020...P3D has probably now taken the back seat...and I mean the FAR back seat!

It's pretty bad that Nvidea can change the driver to render games unplayable. Hopefully this gets sorted soon.

That is definitely not it. nvidia just doesn't do msfs they do 100000s of games, programs and software including video editing. That just a horrible statement considering msfs is still having a load tons of issues. It will get worse with DX12 and VRAM is used instead. You have to remember when P3D first went to DX12 and all the addons had to be Redone and coded. The only reason you say that is due to the millions of general customers on it. For us p3d simmers it has a long way to go to take p3d on.

Yes, p3d has the upper hand rn. Msfs has all the talk. Remember silent is deadly and hype is nothing....

I state my opinion...

To day new 466.11 latest nvidia drivers; still the same issue fail to load P3D v5.1 HF 1.. While the time to solve this issue by either LM or Nvidia, I play whitout issue MSFS. But the time elapsed to fix the problem by LM begin to take awhile.

We were able to isolate this problem to a specific function call in the D3D12 API that the latest driver doesn't seem to handle correctly. We modified a D3D12 SDK sample to produce the same crash seen in P3D v5 and we provided the sample code to Nvidia. It's likely this issue only impacts D3D12 renderers, which might explain why so few applications/games are experiencing this issue. We'll report back here when we have something new to share.

Hi Beau Hollis
The last Graphic driver 466.11 (04/14/2021) is also not compatible with my P3Dv5.1HF1 (5.1.12.26829).
So I confirm that gege21 reported.
