8 GB video card showing in P3D as only 5.3 GB and P3D crashes!

My nVidia 2070 Super card with 8 GB of vram is showing in P3D as only having 5.3 GB available. The result is that the program is crashing due to no more video memory available. Why is this happening? I am running no other programs.

Ah, but you ARE running other stuff - Windows and in particular DX12.... they use that part that you cannot use.
