P3D 4.5.13 -> UTC Time faulty

Post by GEK_the_Reaper »

Hi guys,

I did a client only from 4.5.12 to 4.5.13 and observed that the UTC time checkmark on the start screen will produce some strange results.

Rolling back to 4.5.12 brings the expected results, reinstalling 4.5.13 messes the time up again.

Anybody seen this?

I'll check it when I get home tonight, but what am I looking for? What do you consider "strange results"?

Well Mike, I live in Germany where we have GMT+2.
Let's assume my local time is 12:00PM, if I check the UTC Time box on the start screen, all P3D versions prior 4.5.13 will display 10:00AM (which is correct).

Version 4.5.13 will give me 5:00 PM which would mean GMT-5!!!

Mine is off, too, but not as bad as yours. I am in the Eastern timezone and with Daylight Savings Time currently in effect am GMT-4 but when I check the UTC box the time jumps ahead 5 hours which means it is ignoring DST. I find it really interesting that both of our systems are sing the same GMT-5 offset.

It would be really interesting to see what happens to others in different timezones.

HI time travellers :)

I'm in UK so if I select a local airport, system time and then UTC it takes an hour off which is correct for this time of the year.

If I choose Orlando, system time then UTC it adds 4 hrs, again this is correct because it's taking the airport time as your system time then your selecting utc which is 4 hours in front.

If I select EDDM, system time then utc it gives me 2 hrs time difference.

These time differences in Europe will prob change again at the end of October when our times change.

Play around with various airports and system time and utc and you'll get the idea.

I use SimElite Solutions Time Zone Fixer, works great and cheap

Hi again,

I did mention times will change end of October :)

Well now time wise in the UK we are on our 'winter time' British Summer time' ended during last night, clocks went back last night.

The computers system time is now equal to UTC or what was called GMT.

So when I now select system time and I'm at Heathrow UK EGLL it gives me the UTC time, if I then select UTC, it takes an hour OFF - that is incorrect so the UTC time system is currently wrong.

Don't expect P3D to keep up with local daylight savings laws, which change globally frequently.

Best solution is already mentioned, Time Zone Fixer.
