DXGI_DEVICE_REMOVED_ERROR with Nvidia Inspector
Re: DXGI_DEVICE_REMOVED_ERROR
I think its time to get back to basics, you know the kind that are assumed:
What version of Windows?
Have you done your Windows updates?
What anti virus software do you run?
What do you have running at Windows startup?
IF both old and new PCs have this same error and your talking about clean/green installations of P3D, then it is NOT an addon right?

Re: DXGI_DEVICE_REMOVED_ERROR
I went back to driver veriosn 391.35 and it has been stable ever since. I'm about to complete a flight from KTPA to EGKK without any issues. This has been confirmed in a post on avsim:

Anyone else who can confirm?

Re: DXGI_DEVICE_REMOVED_ERROR
I have done about 100 hours of testing. Unfortunately, it is related to the FSUIPC Auto Save function (disabled now) or any add on that used an auto panel state save. At least this is happening to me on my machines. So something between P3D, Nvidia drivers, and or the add ons.

Re: DXGI_DEVICE_REMOVED_ERROR with auto save
I can confirm that NVidia 397.64 works well without showing DXGI ERROR_DEVICE.. the other 2 drivers 397.93 and 398.11 have the problem..

Re: DXGI_DEVICE_REMOVED_ERROR with auto save
So this beggs the question:
Does LM have to catch up to NV, or did NV mess up?

Re: DXGI_DEVICE_REMOVED_ERROR with auto save
Hello all. Well, I have done additional testing on two machines and it only happens with P3D. I thought it may have been the NVIDIA driver so I tested all the other games I had. I actually installed these new on the P3D sim machine in question. I used DDU to clean up. I also tried all of the drivers below. My original theory of auto save is not the case as it is happening at random times with random aircraft and even LM aircraft. I also removed the GTX1080 and installed a GTX980 in "two seperate machines. One is the AMD Threadripper and the other is my older 7700k. I am at a loss for words here as I do not know what to do. The "other" simulator I also like to use does not have this issue.

Are you saying one of your PCs is ok with all the listed Nvidia drivers and the other PC is failing with all the drivers listed?ironcondor wrote: ↑Wed Jun 20, 2018 6:27 pm Hello all. Re: DXGI_DEVICE_REMOVED_ERROR with auto save
Apologies. What I meant was that I tried it on both computers. What I have now done is used DDU and installed the latest driver. This time around I am not using NVIDIA inspector. I will test and report back.Martyson wrote: ↑Wed Jun 20, 2018 6:36 pmAre you saying one of your PCs is ok with all the listed Nvidia drivers and the other PC is failing with all the drivers listed?ironcondor wrote: ↑Wed Jun 20, 2018 6:27 pm Hello all. Re: DXGI_DEVICE_REMOVED_ERROR with auto save
Reporting back. Well, for the first in in several days I have not used NVIDIA INSPECTOR. No DXGI_Device_Removed CTDs. I am now going to test several days of NVIDIA inspector to see if it happens again. The only thing I was using in NVIDIA inspector for P3D was 36FPS limiter (144hz monitor) and 1/4 refresh rate. I will report back after several days of testing it back on.

Re: DXGI_DEVICE_REMOVED_ERROR with auto save
Confirmed. Nvidia Inspector is causing the DXGI_Device_Removed_Error. I tried it on two machines. Same three short flights with NI on and then off. Same settings. I also used several different versions of NI. Not sure if it has something to do with the NI application or P3D communicating with each other.

Do you have P3D (same version) installed on two home PC's?ironcondor wrote: ↑Fri Jun 22, 2018 1:09 pm Confirmed. Nvidia Inspector is causing the DXGI_Device_Removed_Error. I tried it on two machines. How are you turning Nvidia Inspector On and Off?
Can you give any situational setup instructions / settings so other pilots could to do a test to recreate the DXGI_Device_Removed_Error?
