CTD when clicking aircraft

Post by dillonh.wy »

Hello! After installing the A2A Cessna 172, 182, Comanche, and Cherokee the other day, I started P3D and selected the 182. Right once I clicked it, I had a CTD without any message. I uninstalled all the A2A stuff, yet every time I clicked on any aircraft in the aircraft select menu on the scenario page (default or not), I would get a CTD. Tonight I decided to completely reinstall P3D (not repair), yet the problem still persists. I also tried deleting my P3D.cfg, which didn't work either. I'm running P3D Academic 3.4.18.19475 with Windows 10 64 bit. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ok so I did a complete reinstall of P3D, and removed all my generated files. I did notice something interesting, although I'm not quite sure if it is related to my problem. I have been attempting, but failing to install a Windows update. Here's what Windows tells me: Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602 (Definition 1.235.872.0) - Error 0x80070643. I'm not quite sure if that affects my CTD problem, or if it is indicative of something. Here's some information:

1. I'm running P3D Academic 3.4.18.19475
2. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
3. Nothing, but I had installed the PMDG 737, Aerosoft A320 series, ORBX FTX Global, REX TextureDirect, ActiveSky Next, PFPX, Majestic Q400, Flightbeam Denver, and a couple Addon Sceneries. My problem started happening when I installed all of A2A's products.
4. MSI GTX 970, AMD Phenom II X6 1100T, 2 displays, 16GB RAM
5. My CPU is unlocked in BIOS but rarely gets above its maximum clock.
6. Literally nothing to P3D settings or config files, it is a clean installation.
7. All I get for error messages is "P3D has stopped responding" any time I click on an aircraft or load any flight that involves loading any aircraft.

Also, I just realized that I installed FSUIPC that same day I started experiencing the crashes. :)

Another random little sidenote: FSX:SE crashes too. When I launch it, I see the splashcreen for about three seconds before "Microsoft Flight Simulator X has stopped responding." I don't know if Prepar3D and FSX share any of the same files, so I'm not quite sure if the two are related.

Did you install the latest version of FSUIPC 4.959m?

No, is there anything specific I should look for in it?

Just wondering.
Are your answers from your original P3D install / problem report with those add-ons installed?

Note:
When I mentioned:
"Try this:
viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=123246"

meaing to follow it step by step .. e.g., do another installation without any addons and test in a default situation first.
