Hello guys!
I just moved from FSX to P3D and I liked it until i noticed a blurry terrain while flying.Could someone help me with this problem? Maybe I tweaked it wrong? If yes please say what I'm doing wrong with my cfg :)
Thanks !
P.S I'm using Orbx Global, Vector and EU Open LC.

Jeez. Topic is being repeated and repeated, there is no solution, and no respond from LM:

If you look at the video of mine, I reckon that's the same problem you are seeing or is it worse?

I'm seeing it worse in my sim... But i noticed when i change FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION setting from 0.01 to something like 0.20 it looks better,but still it loads not like it should load.I had the same problem in classic FSX and I also didn't knew how to fix.I hope that someone from support will help us...

Well, maybe if you had the same problem in FSX, the problem is not in the sim as much as in your hardware or windows configuration. However really hard to troubleshoot stuff outside of the simulation.

But maybe a first thing to consider: delete the CFG and let P3D recreate it. Then try again.
(you have couple of false stuff in there)

Re-installing of FSX fixed that problem.I tried to recreate the cfg file.

Qs. to consider....only after you are using a "default" Prepar3D.cfg

1. OS and sim on HDDs or SSDs ? - SSDs will make a HUGE difference in my experience.

2. Are u using high speed low level jets when getting blurries ? - I've never been able to attain low level high speed over terrain without significant blurries and/or lack of autogen !!!

3. General sim settings (sliders) low/med/high/ultra ? - Pushing the sim too hard? To find out on YOUR system, YOU need to spend HOURS/DAYS/MONTHS/YEARS experimenting. Nobody can answer apart from you.

4. Using the following over and above within the default Prepar3D.cfg ?

TextureMaxLoad=6
FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.03
TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=110
UseGlobalTerrainView=True

All subject to your graphics card type really and you need to spend as much time as you can tweaking to become "happy".

---------

That's my 2 pennys worth.

I have asked this question 11 moths ago. I got zero answer. Yesterday I repeated my question. Just below this topic for now. Strange that no one seems to see it. Again I got zero asnwer. You are lucky that someone answers you.

If you enable the tesselation it will be ok. If you disable the tesselation there will be blurred ground textures. The problem must be in the software core! Why? Because there is a checkbox which makes the textures blurred in FSX which is the "Land Detail Textures checkbox" but in prepar3d v2 we cant control that. I believe the devs have skipped it somehow.

and the result is the same

This picture is taken from Prepar3D v2.5, a frech clean isntallation, without any add-ons and no tweaks. I even did not change the control settings. Do you see the resemblance between two pictures?

[JOBSCHEDULER]
AffinityMask=84

This is the problem.
In P3D, all cores must be active, otherwise born blurries.
So, no affinity mask in .cfg or, if you really want to put it, must be = 85.

Nemo,

your answer is not appropriate. You don't know how many cores does he have. Besides I also tried that and it does not solve this particular problem. It can solve other types of blurries which is caused by the loading of the textures.

The soltion is in the

[TERRAIN]
DETAIL_TEXTURE=

if you set this to "0" it causes the textures to be blurred if you set it to "1" causes the textures to be seen. But in Prepar3D v2.x it has no effect.

I have FSX, FSX-SE and Prepar3D v2.5 I tried on all three. FSX and FSX-SE is effected by this paremeter but in P3D it does not have any effect.

So we can definitely call it a "BUG"

My answer is very appropriate.
Its CPU is a quad cores, with HT ON as he that put 84.

hi fastprop, my advice is to switch off hyperthreading in your bios, it makes a fairly big difference graphically, enough that unless LM cracks the hyperthreading issues it'll be permanently off on my rig, neither fsx or p3d have run well on hyperthreading

On my rig, HT on is better than off. Try it both ways and see what is best on your setup. This issue is certainly not "one size fits all".
