Hello,

im using Win7 Ultimat 64bit, Im working on freeware stuff for FSX and have a lot of problems with GMax on my system. Since i have 3DS Max 2010 through my university, a user at fsdeveloper.com mentioned the Prepar3D SDK and i downloaded and installed it (+ the "Prepar3D SDK 3ds Max Tools BETA").

But as you all know it only has folders for 2009 11 and 12, at fsd i was told to use the 2009er but i get some error messages when starting 3DS Max 2010.

Any idea how i can solve this?

Greats

Max

You quotet that part allready in the thread about "Setup 3ds max2012 64 bit to export mdl" and i follwed your instruction but modified them to match my installation.

So like this:

1. Done! (on partition D:)

2.&3. Since i have 3DS Max 2010 i didnt download this, but tried it now with SP1 for 2010 -> less error messages

4. As stated above: Done!

5. I added: "D:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D SDK 1.1.2771.0\Environment Kit\Modeling SDK\3DSM2009\Plugins"

6. Done ;)

7.&8. My Prepar3Dplugin.ini looks like this:

Code:

9.Copyed it to: C:\Users\kleineMax\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2010 - 32bit\enu

10.;11.&12. I changed target to: "D:\Autodesk\3ds Max 2010 32\3dsmax.exe" -p "C:\Users\kleineMax\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2010 - 32bit\enu\Prepar3Dplugin.ini"

When i start 3DS Max with this shortcut, it starts without errors, but also without the AcesTools or the .X export option

Whats wrong here, why doesnt it work?

Ok, i tried that. But when i do this i get the same error/notifaction message as the last when setting up the sdk the normal way (via systempaths). This error isnt in my starting post because it only came up after i installed the Tools update.

Could it be that the SDK is just not compatible with 3Ds Max 2010?

I know we tested against 2009, 2011, and 2012. We may not have had a copy of 2010 to test with. The main goal with the updates is to support the latest versions since max 2009 is no longer available for purchase. We would like to get it working for 2010 as well of course, but any 2010 specific bugs will likely have to take a back seat to bugs that affect the newer versions.

Thanks,

Beau

Ok, thats a bit sad cause i have the legal 2010er version and using a version that fell of a truck isnt that cool.

Hope you get prepar3D working with 2010 and maybe some else can confirm the current status, but probably not .. not so many 2010er guys here ;)

If you have a legitimate Max 2010, you can email Autodesk Support and ask for a reversion copy of Max 2009. There's no charge for this service.
