On starting P3D I receive the panel "Can't Init SimConnect - error code 0x80004005". On pressing its OK button, the P3D splash remains and the CPU usage remains at 0%. I am therefore not currently getting to start P3Dv4.1.
I have:
- Moved SimConnect.cfg from C:\Users\speed\OneDrive\Data Files\ to the My Documents directory on both Server and Client PC
- Ensured that Win 10 is at 1709 level
- Re-installed P3Dv4.1
- Checked that there are not multiple dll.xml files duplicating actions
- Disabled FSUIPC5
- Uninstalled SODE
- Disabled FlightBeam Manager
- Re-run the FSDT Stand-Alone Addon Manager
- Re-run the FSDT Live Update
So I am out of ideas. Have anyone additional thoughts to get me going?

Re: Can't Init SimConnect - error code 0x80004005
Hi Brady,
I am using P4Dv4.1 which I have re-installed just yesterday on my PC which has up-to-date Windows 10 Home running on an i7-7700K CPU, 16GB memory and GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.
I have followed the instructions in the FAQ and for each of:
- C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 (or the modified install location):
-- %PROGRAMDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4
-- %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4
-- %APPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4
-- %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Files
I have renamed each, in turn, to force P3D to re-create them, but without solving the noted problem.
Can you tell me what causes SimConnect to be executed?
I hope that you can help.

Re: Can't Init SimConnect - error code 0x80004005
That error is likely caused by a bad call from an add-on.
